Iv seen them a few times now its a bit spooky! Its like an orange light that moves quite quick across the sky and after a minute it flashes and suddenly dissappears. Its clearly not a plane or a helicopter or a chinese lantern as it doesnt move about, it steadily flys in a straight line.
Interesting as I live in Sheffield (Gleadless). I have never seen this before, but I have before seen a green flashing object moving very fast, which seems to catch fire shortly before vanishing.

We have just seen about 8 or 9 orange lights going across the sky in our back window. Going from Hillsborough to Meadowhall and then they just vanished. We even called 101 to report it and they say it could be lanterns - but they were too controlled to be just floating. It was def stabilised flight and they seemed like they were flying flames
yeah it was only the one, first time ive ever seen it, i cant see it being lanterns i mean why the hell would lanterns be floating in the sky? i guess they didnt know what to say n just came up with some generic excuse to give you, haha yeah that would be kinda awesome but would actually prove that there are UFO's as they wouldnt be knocking on the door otherwise :)
we have just been looking up chinese lanterns on the web and they do look sort of the right shape but lanterns surely just go up, not zip across the sky in a controlled manner - the plot thickens - alien or military??
check the wind direction on the met office website see which way the wind is blowing, if its blowing in a different direction then it cant be lanterns as something that light would use the wind to carry it along, id hope for it to be alien as we cant be the only living thing in the universe, 73 billion light years across and wer the only thing.....never! if it was the military then who knows what they wer doing or testing
i saw about 20 glowing orange lights going accross the sky slowly all above hillsborough some time last week, then last night i was walking from my girlfriends house and i saw this yellowy orange circle kinda close and it looked like it was on fire at the back or something really hard to explain what i saw but i think its related. been researching and alot of people in sheffield have seen the same!

We always see them over Sheffield. It like moves really slow then slowly disapears really eerie. But we havnt seen one that looks like its on fire.
