  • Unfortunately they all same about the same. If you can hear a note in those bass drums you are better than me.

  • this is one of the best drummers!

  • @charliesepi We agree, and we're lucky to have him!

  • That was cool!

  • this guy must use the same hair stylist as Jerry Lewis.....

  • Drum tuning? What drum tuning? The guy never touched a drum lug! Not to mention there are other drummers out there that use extra bass drums and toms MUCH more melodically than this guy! Ever heard of Thomas Lang?

  • This video should be re-titled: "Jonathan Moffat Discussing Drumming Philosophy & Mentioning Drum Tuning a Couple of Times"

How can you post a 23 minute video, supposedly about drum tuning, in which the "demonstrator" doesn't once pick up a lug wrench?

  • most over rated drummer of all time. WOW he hits cymbals behind his head.....watch thomas pridgen....now he should have been MJs drummer

  • @twoplustwoisnotfour - when MJ was looking for a drummer...Pridgen was'nt born yet.....

  • spoken like a true drummer

  • ''Whatever'' .. HAHA

  • One of the best drum videos on YouTube.

  • THANK YOU! AWESOME VIDEO

Too bad you can't hear the toms resonate naturally through the room mic

  • Comment removed

  • And, what about the microphone used? i can see some audix D2, md 421, but what a mic on the snare? top and botom? HH mic, OH ????

  • Thanks Jonathan and PreSonus, I enjoyed listng to your insights and sounds!

  • What kind of mics are those on the toms?

  • which KRK are those?

  • love it

  • Amazing video.

By the way, he is using 2 snares, but even when he use just one you can make so many sounds with it. I mean, he needs 3 or more Bass drums to do different sounds, cause is impossible to do different sounds in just one, but you can make that the snare sound in so many different ways just hiting in the ring, in the center, crosstick, rimshot, closer to the ring, without the snare strainer or different sticks.

  • ONE MORE?

  • He talks about having several bass drums but he only has one snare? Lol

  • @RageicaNiels Looks like two snares... one piccalo to the left.

  • @RageicaNiels He's got two, right near the Hi-Hat, and directly in front of him.

  • @RageicaNiels he actually uses 2 piccolo's custom-made for him

  • haha the guy at the end said it was awesome and he said "whatever" with a face and everything
