The most intelligent decision the Spanish Navy ever did was to purchase US Aegis systems for these warships. Better then anything the French and the English have so-far until thier new frigates comes on line in 2010.

They are here now in 2009 the type 45, and they are not license built US systems like the spanish have had to do. The spanish ship is an american clone, the weapons helicopters et al. Conversely the type 45's are designed and built in UK, were they actually have the smarts to do it themselves, they'll use them too, unlike the Spanish who 'wimped out' as soon as the terrorists struck their country, cowards and copy cats.
