so because theyve voted and spoke out thier mind in a very democratc way, they are scolded and called unpatriotic basically because they didnt agree with a war that the majority of the industrial nations also apose? FOX is rediculous. I somtiems wonder how on earth people could in thier right mind think about voting someone like Bachman as a pres but then I realize, its hard to be in a sane state of mind if you only watch FOX news. Its this kind of propoganda that makes me sick to my stomach.
I was proud of the students at my Alma mater for standing up to the overwhelming jingoism of the time. What a disgrace to journalism to Fox is. They should be unplugged forever.
@chimmie1 I go to Hampshire, and yes they do teach computer science here. It has nothing to do with the video quality of this. This is just someone taking a shitty fox video, no relation to the quality of the academics at my school, which are outstanding by the way. So do some research before you make assumptions you pretentious fuck!
We Should support the Hampshire Students. They are sheltered, live in dorms with RAs who listen to their " problems" We should salute them for being in Solidarity with people who kill gays, throw acid in womens faces, cut 8 year old girls clits off, Scream DEATH to lesbians etc...CELEBRATE DIVERSITY!!!!!!!!!!
Thank God we're persecuting those ridiculous people. How dare they try to solve their problems without killing people? What lesson did Hampshire kids learn? Fox News is a gang of escaped mental patients.
I'm a 1998 alum of Hampshire -- all I have to say is: YEAH, right on! It's about time Hampshire gets recognized nationally as being a college who won't back down, no matter how unpopular it may make itself. I'm glad to see Hampshire keep doing what it was founded to do: give students a voice. HAMSTERS 4EVER!!!!!
There was one---one, single very bitter, disgruntled alumni named Tom Schneider, who was an activist with the New Jersey Republican Party, who started this dumb little "Hampshire Patriots" website and then set it up to look like this was some sort of a "movement" among the alumni. He spammed every single Hampshire alum he could find, begging them to join him. Months later, he whined on his website about how few people signed up. He seems very angry about his life and blames his alma mater. Sad.
Exactly. Now, the majority of Americans strongly agree with "these crazy college kids." As usual, what Hampshire does that seems so "radical" at the time, eventually becomes mainstream and a part of the general culture some years later. No wonder this school has produced so many amazing graduates.
His last comment makes me laugh. "They learned their lesson". Years later it is a fact that the war was based on false evidence, and it has cost American taxpayers trillions of dollars over the these years. This events are ironic when you look back. Continue to think outside the box.
Hey, maybe they were right after all. In hindsight I think they were pretty smart. They blocked out all the jingoism of the months right after 9/11. They thought it through instead of just reacting.
i remember this! wow, tom schneider's whiny website got TV time? i guess it was perfect fox-fodder. love that they only gave quotes from his website that support his position, when i think at least as many, perhaps more, came in supporting hampshire students.

Judging by the video quality, I'm guessing that they don't teach computer science at Hampshire College.

Hampshire was absolutely right. This is manufactured dissent, no one was upset about the vote. There was no "sharp divide in the community."
Because two alums threw a fit, Fox News designed some organization of Hampshire alums that didn't really exist.
Fox News isn't journalism. By the very definition of the word: it's propaganda.
"They've learned their lesson?" This is a Hampshire trend: we do something daring and "crazy." A few years later, it becomes popular. XD.
