Obviously it's controlled and just a drill even though they don't tell anyone it is. They would be movin a lot faster and a lot more units would be there as it's a actual park
@ONEzephyer This is real. The trucks are moving that slowly because there are still children around and they can run into a danger zone pretty quickly.
I was there as well. It was a fire in an electrical duct. I don't know what started it, but it got into a tunnel that led to a transformer so they couldn't get water on the fire until the power was shut off. Reedy Creek didn't call the entire department into the park for practice either. They needed every one of the firefighters that were there. They spent half the night chasing the fire through the tunnels and walls of the building.
She's just a coordinator. I used to work there(FWS) and managers don't where costumes. Actually I know exactly who she is, but I won't say her name on here for her own privacy. Unless there is another lady in blue that I missed! haha :D
Woo hoo! The lady in blue directing traffic is my manager! This really was not a big deal. And yes most of the firefighters were there for practice, but it got down in the tunnels underneath the property.
I was there.I work at EPCOT. It was not an electrical fire. They were doing construction and one of the 3rd party workers (aka not a diseny cast member) tossed a burning cigarette into a trash can inside inoventions. It really was not that big of a deal but reedy creek (Disney's fire department) used it as a practice.
I SERIOUSLY doubt that Disney is gonna use a thrash can fire to 'practice' in the middle of open park hours like this. Incidents in theme parks are dealth with quickly and as low key as possible. Believe me, if this would've been a safety practice, ALL of central florida news stations would've broadcast it to show the world: "DISNEY WILL BE DOING A SAFETY EXERCISE TODAY AT EPCOT. THEY HOLD THEME SAFETY AS #1 PRIORITY!!"
i don't doubt that they used it as practice. There aren't that many fires at Disney...so they need all the practice they can get. And yes safety is our number one priority! Disney doesn't tell you everything. I work there...and i don't even know about half the stuff that goes on!
@FWSECMEPCOT They keep some stuff secret so more people will come and not be afraid. Like how the It's a Small World dolls are really demons out for your flesh and blood and they feed on other peoples torture. How's that so? The redundant theme song.
But I agree. A lot of stuff happens that we don't even know about.
Those Fire Fighters must have been from the Reedy Creek fire station. Interestingly enough, that's the only fire station on Disney Property. You caught a real jem.
Hate to correct you but Reedy Creek has 4 stations on Disney property. One behind the Magic Kingdom, One by Downtown Disney, one behind EPCOT, and one Behind the Mc Donald's by Animal Kingdom. It was rare however to see the engine in the park.
Yeah, it could have been a mess had they just flown into the park at high speed without warning to the park goers..... Lives can't be replaced.... rides or other equipment can be replaced.
Thanks for posting this! We were watching Hotel California all evening and saw this as we were walking out at 9pm. And yes, Illuminations did go off at 9pm.

that's pretty sweet... is it just me, or does Disney have problems with fire lately?... ouch... 2 in Epcot in the last year too!!! And then the MK catching a Fantasmic flame... and I think Rock 'n' Roller Coaster had a small fire on the top of it's building recently also... haha.. good job disney!!!! Very Interesting. Good thing it wasn't a big fire, because at the speed they were traveling, it could've been devastating.
