Lovely cars the 75s oh they don't rust you can find early ones and they still look showroom fresh. Also they are very reliable and if maintained can lead to very very high miliages
Actualy you are wrong, the Rover brand did indeed get a bad name in the 1970's and 80's, but just before Rover went bankrupt they produced the wonderful Rover 75.
The Rover flagship was not only the best Rover ever made, it was better than any equivelant Jaguar or Mercedes, and far better than the extremely overated BMW's.
I know as I have driven them all. Don't be another brainwashed idiot. The Rover 75 is a fantastic car. (the CDTi model is best in connoisseur trim).
@akon113 You may have been unlucky there. I have had 2 Rovers in the past, both with the K-series engine, both very reliable....the thing with the K-series, is to maintain the coolant, the inlet manifold gasket "O"rings were prone to leaking, this was the main cause of the Head Gasket failing, i fitted the new "green" inlet manifold gasket to mine and no problems at all. The demise of Rover really started during the British Leyland era, it was a long goodbye to be honest.
What a shame they stopped building them, I had a 03 then went to Citroen c5 and have the new c5 now, if rover hadnt stopped making them I'd have bought a new one every 3 year, they were a beautiful car
@foxdmulder They certainly were, even now when you see one one the road, they have so much character compared with the currant same as you shapes...love the 75.
I own a Rover 75 2.0 CDTi Connoisseur, and it has leather heated seats, and a 6 cd autochanger, Air conditioning, Climate control, electric seats, electric heated mirrors, And a 4 star NCAP safety rating. It has done 108 thousand miles with no problems. It has a beautiful wood effect interior. Oh and people who say bad things about Rover 75's, have never driven one.
Plus if you called me a retard face to face, it would only happen once.
@spotswood4444 No its obvious YOU dont know anything about cars!! hahahaha you own a sad mans car. You must be old. You really are a retarded fucking idiot!! Just to repeat, you are a retard!! Who the hell would want to boast about a piece of shit rover? Please tell me grandad? You sound like Alan Partridge!! You stupid retard!! There, I have called you a retard to your face! Again!! Get in your stupid old mans car and drive off a cliff!! hahahaha
I grow weary of conversing with someone who suffers with the problem that the best part of them ran down their Fathers leg.
Do not converse with me again as I will block you.
Oh and there is one thing that I can guarantee, if you were stood directly in front of me, you would not dare call me a retard. And if you did then it would be your final act alive.
I've got a 75 tourer 2.0 CDT., have had it about 3 years now. You get a lot of car for the money. There's a stigma attached to it that you have to be retired to own one, I guess it's because it has a 1950's look inside and out. I'm 27 and think it's great, reliable, spacious, safe, good mpg,. Great family car. Long live the 75.
The Rover 75 does have the look of a 1950's car, and to me that adds tons of style. Just look at cars today they are all the same, with cheap plastic dashboards.
is a rover worth the money? i can bye one from 00 for 6000 eu? is it worth it? i have heard that the quality sucks? can it be truth? i dont think so, i like the cars. plz reply!
Hi mate, no, nobody ever answered, in fact i got so fed up with the rover 75 head gaskets failing (2 in 2 years!) that i sold the thing and bought a puma instead. Puma owners seem to help each other out a lot more too. Was great while it lasted tho, loved the 75 for the comfort. Shame it was a money-hog in servicing and repairs (£812 for a new clutch for example!).
I got the 2002 rover 75, owned for 6 months. beautiful looking car although under powered V6 2.5L. Blown head gasket, couldn't get parts in Oz, my mechanic flew to England to buy them, came back last week and found the reason they all overheat is because of a Solenoid problem with the thermal fan. Cost...$6000 Aus for the repair. The car is worth around 14K in Aus don't buy one if you don't live in Europe.
Thanks for the video. I have the same car, same colour but without the chromed wing mirrors.
It's the CDT model and EVERYONE looks at the car and loves it. Ultra reliable and touching 50mpg on a long run, cant beat that for such an elegant looking vehicle.
Sure is a beautiful car. I've had it 4 years and would never consider getting rid of it. Such a shame that the corrupt, self serving, short sighted uk gov screwed the company over and let it go down.. big shame.
A very beautiful car willowm3, I had one once in mirage blue, top of the range car with all the ''toys'' and a creamy super smooth 2.5 V6. Enjoy yours mate!!
Un gran coche...un gran modelo sin duda alguna:) hierro en estado puro y no como muchos coches de ahora con el culo chafado que parecen de aluminio...
It looks like a luxury car. They were fairly reliable. They Employed Thousands In Your country. Why did your government allow them to be taken over by those Phoenix rogues? Why were SAIC allowed to take all the tools and equipment back to china with them?
I had an MG ZT, I rolled it on the Motorway at a very high speed, I thought my life was over, but she came to rest on her wheels and I opened the door and walked away with a few scratches.
These cars (either the 75 or MG-ZT) are so good, built like a brick out house and as strong as Geoff Capes, am sure mine saved my life.
I just learnt to drive in the 2.0l TDi version (estate - BMW built engine) of these - I love it! Better than driving any boring clichéd learner car (ie. Corsa) Don't care what my friends say about it being an 'old persons' car - they are top notch, especially with big alloys as mine has!
sounds like the BMW diesel engine version. Nice car, no doubt. My ZT260 is the other end of the range but all 75 ZTs are cool and in my book getting cooler, that,s why I went mad and bought one
Gorgeous car. Looks just like mine! Except my mirrors arn't silver. Guess you've got a higher spec model than mine. Got any video of the dash and interior? Or pics?
Lovely car! I have a silver 75 with chrome wing mirrors. But it is Club SE spec with the intelligence pack. I notice you have the wonderful chrome plates on the inside of the chrome door handles! They go wonderfully with the dark coach work :)

@mountainrover On the 75 the VIN plate is on the lower "B"post (centre piller) near the sill on the passenger side......nearside.
