God, I love overwelming evidence that this video was recreated and taken right to Spinal Tap. Jay Ferguson was in a band called Spirit, which sound is recreated for listen to the flower people, theres a guy in this video that looks like Nigel, AND hes chewing gum.
This was such an underrated album! You could listen to it from start to finish and never be tempted to get up and change the needle! Thanks for the post! KILLER!
Now it appears the fact that Spinal Tap looks like this band (Viv and ?Nigel, ) is no accident. Listen to the Flower Children was heavily influences, from the band Spirit. Spirit featured Jay Ferguson, Ferguson put this out 13 years later.
Thunder Island just makes me uh, imagine what it was like when I was in 20;s.. I remember!!!.. Been there, done that.Still love the feeling of the song.
@terry9966 Ugh. . . Well you can hide away honey, in your rock and roll dreams,
You can stand by your blue suede shoes-
But the party is over,
And I'm getting tired of waiting for you. Remember, the good old days weren't always good and tomorrow ain't as bad as it seems. Most of the first 20 years of rap was a lot better than this cheese.
I can't believe this video is 28 yrs old no! MAN! Time flys,YIKES!! I remember when this was on the charts, I have an old cassette recording off of the radio of this song, finally found the album 20 years later at a Goodwill!
The great Jay Ferguson. What a awesome writer/pianist and lead singer. Saw him twice with Spirit. A very very underrated performer. I think currently writing music for TV and movies.
Holy shit - I remember actually seeing this on tv. He performed 3 other songs, 2 of them were from the Terms And Conditions album (I forget the 4th song - I don't think it was Thunder Island). Anyway, can you please post the other songs? I used to be a VERY big fan of his. And - is that Joe Walsh on drums? It sure looks like him. Or maybe it's Curly Smith....
Jay kind of looks like a mix between the oldest Hudson brother and John Holmes.

Question: What Key does Jay Ferguson sing "Shakedown Cruise" in???
Answer: The KEY of D: 5A-1D-4G-6mBm.
Chords are more often than not a direct mathematical function of KEY

I forgot what a bad-mofo this tune was. Who is that guitar player? Drummer?
What's Jay doing lately??
naderchaser 2 years ago
One of Jay`s best songs.
The guitar player is Bob Webb and the drummer is Curly Smith.

Drummer is Harry Stinson, not Curly Smith.
