I watched one Camel Gt race back in the early '80s where a steel bodied, privateer, Camaro was outbraking a factory-sponsored Porche 935. It was phunny.
@MartySchrader I've seen a race like that, it was a SCCA race with 60's corvettes, camaros, mustangs, barracudas, one challenger, chevelles, and GTOs. In the front was a Lotus Seven, it was slower that the american muscle but is flew around the corners like a formula 1 car. A camaro driver said "it was always there" and a corvette driver said "that thing kept getting in theh way" I thought it was funny, imagine if it had a V8!!!
@nmosely1988 My old roommate had a '73 Lotus Elite that he needed to restore. He always wanted to build it up as a fairly heavy-hitting V6-powered nasty, but never had the time for it. Eventually he married into an instant family and got rid of most of his project cars. Too bad; he had lots of power plants and suspension kits lying around waiting to be built into the right chassis sets, but never enough time to finish any of them. Heh. That's what happens when you get old, I guess.
@MartySchrader If only he had a son with the same interest as him or found a young man with the same passions he might have passed his projects on and watch them be completed. My father had a metallic silver 1981 Camaro Z28 with T-tops and mild mods (his high school dream car) and was working on a 1970 Camaro Z28 with a 383ci when he couldn't finish it. I'm 22 and grew up loving cars and I finished restoring the 70' Camaro. Eventually, both the Camaros was passed down to me. Great Cars!!!
beautiful sound track .....might make it my ring tone
