Sergei is very underrated. He has high level K1 kickboxing and world-class Sambo. Yes, his Sambo is not on World Championship level but it's definitely up there (thus having a decent ground game with multiple submissions). Now Josh does not have world-class stand up but has word-class ground game with his Catch Wrestling base. So this comes down to if Sergei keeps it standing, he wins, if it goes to the ground he might hold his own against Josh but his chances are lower if it goes to the ground.

If I would to rate Sergei on the ground from 0 to 10 (10 being the best), I would give him a solid 7 while Barnett is easily at 9.5

Kharitonov always prepared. Really good guy never talks BS about the other fighters. Hopefully preparations in Thailand went well and groundgame is really in shape as he claims. Thumbs up for Sergei

@VEGETADTX the fight with Nog he got up awesomely, barnett is a huge guy and Sergei has been training K1 alot his striking looks amazing, but Barnett is a guy can't really mess with on the ground, at first i was thinking Sergei is doing good, then when he was down i was like its over, it be over for most heavyweights thou.

@mrparka Yes I agree, I think he focused too much on striking WHICH IS GREAT, he might be the hardest puncher ever, but he must work on his submission defense, Nogueira the best submissioner ever couldn't submit Sergei back then, btw I believe Sergei won that fight.

I'd love if somebody would give Sergei another chance.

@VEGETADTX yeah i would love Sergei to fight again in strikeforce or ufc, him vs Junior Dos Santos would be awesome, i know alot of people wouldn't give him a chance, but he will take one to give one and i'm sure he will atleast connect solid on Junior once. i love Junior so him vs Sergei is a dream match.
