Ahh, I learned a lot from this Video. Even though my Main was always Dan from the beginning, I did some Online & it was hard to win as Dan against a User who kept on winning.

I taunted along the way & then went Rage Dan (Red Color Scheme) and actually beat him. After beating Friends, him again, won as Dan once again.

Then went on with a Streak of Wins even going against a Challenging Akuma, and later, tired out. Fight, Ultra, and Taunt, Saikyo Style.

There is just too much awsomeness here it's hard to know where to start. Maybe its the Guile death by blocking bit that i laughed the most at in the beginning or the ultra against Balrog at around 1:00. what a great Dan tribute!

Anyways is Dans Tengu mask worn on the side (costume) a reference to Takuma Sakasaki in Art of Fighting 1 by SNK? Afaik Dan was a comedy character created by Capcom because they where so tired of other companies like SNK copying their characters right of the bat

@berugaslabor Yarp, the tengu mask is a reference both to his own father Go Hibiki within street fighter canon, and to Mr Karate, who Go is based on the same way Dan is Robert's head on a Ryo body.

I think its fair to say at this point though that Dan is a character in his own right who, love him or hate him, genuinely belongs to the street fighter universe as more than just a spoof.

@Cosmopanda Cheers for the all the Dan backstory as im not exactly up to date with the sf canon! :) actually never thought about the Ryo Sakasaki body and Robert Garcia head = Dan but its there alright. Well but in all fairness SNK back in the beginning did "borrow" a awful lot from Capcom, even if i think SNK did a better job in the story line department

I love Dan to death and consider him a character in his own right by all means, but knowing all the background facts never hurts ^^

@hrpip Playing Dan right is spamming taunt as often as possible. Also, it's bad form to wear any colour other than pink. If you want actual tips on how to win as Dan, um... well, his knee (quarter circle back and light kick) is probably his best attack IMO. It breaks focus, you can use it in mid-air, and it builds a pretty decent amount of meter. I'm a terrible Dan player, you should ask elsewhere!
