I started learning this on the guitar, the opening riff that is. Thought I was doing good. Then I watched this. I'll never be as good as Brian Setzer. XD
@StoriesOfBiceilsFord I will partially agree with you. Though, he and the orchestra play a broad spectrum of genres all fused into one; Swing, Jazz, Blues,Surf, Rockabilly, Psychobilly. Its far to hard to classify their music. Each song brings to the table elements of all of those genres. Some of those genres even being combinations of each other. haha. I would classify this song as 'PsychobillySurfSwing" :P
@seaniscoolcool That was the point i was getting at, the boundary between genres is so blurred sometimes that it's almost impossible to draw the a line between them, so why not mix it up :P
@geezer6970 i've never heard him say that, it just happens when you play these styles aggressively. I like that about it, you can find the perfect midpoint that you like
@StoriesOfBiceilsFord It was some random interview he did I found on Youtube. But yeah, that was his initial inspiration, but when you incorporate it into an orchestra you have to use a lot more horn influenced genres as well. The dude's just a genius who can do anything. End of story.
@StoriesOfBiceilsFord Yes. He....is.....god. Sucks that he's coming to San Diego soon, but I'm not 21 yet. I'm probably his biggest fan down here and I can't even see him. Oh well, next time.
@geezer6970 I miss out on so many gigs because I'm not 18 yet, it's a shame a lot of the english psychobilly bands are breaking up and I haven't been able to see them yet!
yeah this rocked-i was there-it was sponsored by bmw, i'm in a lot of shots here-right by the base player-makes you wonder where all the years go. this song is bad ass.
Great song. At 2:59 the rest of the guys forget to shout "SWITCHBLADE!" so he does it for them. Too funny. I'm sure they got an earful later. Setzer makes what he's doing look so easy...but it sure isn't. Thanks for the post.
Has the same beat as all his other songs although this is so sad I still love his sound.

@StoriesOfBiceilsFord He said that all of his music is a combination of old school rockabilly and punk. That's the very definition of psychobilly.
