are you sure that is a Y Perm? im pretty sure a permutation changes th permutaion of the top layer pices while keeping them oriented. sorry, i might be missing something because i have learnt a differnet way to do a y perm and it has a different effect on my cube that ur Y perm does

TIP:

if you are going to blindfold-solve it for your first time --> try solving it without any blindfold. just using this method with open eyes. try keeping the front face + top face always on the same side.

this helped me at my first time

If you anyone is having trouble with his Y perm try this one I came up with.

D R2 U L' U2 R U' R' U2 L R U' R D'

It's 1 move shorter and easier to perform(in my opinion)

I got this alg by modifying the J perm I use

I think top 17 officially by now and plenty of people have gotten sub-1 min solves unofficially...

I also use both J and sometimes just setup to a commutator to solve 3 cycles if there requires too many breaks into new cycles. Also try this R perm: RUR'F'RU2R'U2R'FRURU2R'U'

For parity, I do corners except for last one, edges, U'F2UM2U'F2U, then just finish last corner.

i already memorized ur r perm, i already knew the y one, but my r perm was always different. anyway i wanted to know if we could use the same r perm but different algorithm? however my bormal r perm u do it form the opposite side not that side. anyway i alrdy memorized this one and its easy but i was just wondering

My hint, do it multiple times to get it into the muscle memory, and at the same time focus on where certain pieces go during the alg. That helps a lot =]

ask suchibuffet for the stringing a magic thing, considering eric takes 2 hours sstringing a magic then has to take it apart because he flipped a tile :P, but suchibuffet (rhodri) can string a magic in like 5 min, check my profile to find suchibuffet because im not quite sure how to spell it atm

oh wow, i can't wait for next part. i've been planning to switch to M2 since i've heard about alex yu's amazing solves. but i didn't to know how to start. i currently use the old pochmann though.
