Beautiful. That Ogre dude is so hot

  • skinny puppy is so unique there are hardly any bands that compare to them from this time period its so dark and so artistic, this brings music to an enitely differnt level one of the best bands that ever existed

  • MIND: PERPETUAL INTERCOURSE is my FAVORITE industrial album! nothing else comes close to its intensity, beauty and decadence.

  • is this version of the song available on any record?

  • @Maulwurf7585 this is just a short version of the Def Wish mix, you can find it on the Chainsaw EP.

  • IIRC, this video's on Brap 3.

  • I have NO idea why, but this song reminds me of the movie 'Labyrinth.' O.O

  • awesome song.. man i love this style of beat..

  • The song is awesome!!!! the video is acceptable :P

  • the beat THE BEAT!! i love the beat

  • Filmed at old New Westminster prison grounds. Now torn down and are new condos and townhouses. :(

  • I wish this video mix were available on CD. "Stairs and Flowers (Def Wish Mix)" isn't quite the same... I prefer the tighter, shortened mix of this video more. It's one of my absolute favorite Skinny Puppy songs. Plus, the amazing part at 2:48 in this video (right after, "What happened?" "What do you mean, 'what happened'? I just slipped down these damn stairs!") isn't in that mix. It is in the album mix. It's such a shame this version of the song isn't available elsewhere, outside of the video.

  • it's the chainsaw EP, You can still get it if you look hard enough.

  • The "Chainsaw"/"Stairs and Flowers" single only has the "Def Wish" and "Too Far Gone" mixes, neither of which are the same as this video mix. Again: "Def Wish" mix is very similar, but it's longer and is missing some of the instrumentation that's in this video version (bits and pieces that were extracted from the 'Mind: The Perpetual Intercourse' album version).

So no, this mix has never been released outside of this music video.

  • i always try to figure out what movie there samplings are from its quite the challenge sometimes i wish they still did samplings in there new music

  • never cared for the song but the video for it is great

  • when i was sixteen listening to and singing along with, rabies, my dad busted in and accused me of practicing witchcraft. he said i was "saying a spell" ..

    i'll never forget that moment.

  • @spadehatesscrewtube

Sounds like something my parents would do and this made me laugh my butt off.

When I was 12 I bought a cabbage patch doll and my mom accused me of trying to get pregnant. Ha

  • Here's a flashback for me.

A part of Glass Houses stuck with me since I was 9 or so, and I had no clue why.

The part was, "Create vision fabricate, smash to pieces watch and wait-SMASH GLASS HOUSES!"

  • 2:00 A kitty!

  • Lol, the beginning of the song is hilarious. XP

  • this was one of my first video i remember on MTV when i was a child and it has stuck with me

  • Skinny Puppy often sounds like hip-hop, was this their intention?

  • I always wondered that myself. like are some of there influences hip-hop? hmmm

  • Remember the bad "Lee Chubby King" Skinny Puppy side project, and Beastie Boys parody? Seems that Beasties done their move :P

    watch?v=O_zI6jADB4w

  • "bad" - should be "band" (it's not bad at all)

  • Great song, great memories! "Look at what happened, I just slipped down these damn stairs..." became a mantra for my friends and I me in high school. I still say it sometimes and crack myself up.

  • "...on the Marylebone Road"

    -- Coil "Marylebone Road slip"

  • I think it's "what do you mean What Happened, I just slipped down these damn stairs". Not that it's important.

Anybody know what movie that sampling is from?

  • It's from the movie "Sticks".

The movie was made by ZBS Media as part of their "Cabinet of Doctor Fritz" series

  • i think it might of been the first poltergeist movie but dont hold it against me if im wrong

  • @eolake Yeah, I think you're right, but right or wrong, we always said "look at what happened". Oh well, it's not the first time I have made up lyrics for a song and thought I was right! I'm sure it won't be the last.....haha.

  • @eolake I think you're right! But, for whatever reason, we would always say "look at what happened". It wouldn't be the first time I got the lyrics wrong on a song and certainly not the last.....! :)

  • @Alison0002 That was a mantra for me and my sis, as well haha We used to record ourselves saying it LMAO GREAT SP tune!

  • @Alison0002 You commented 2 years ago, but had to reply coz you sound like me & my friends about that quote in this song. one time my friend & i were at a restaurant & my my friend gets up to go to the bathroom, which was in teh basement. & i hear what sounds like her falling & she's saying "owww" over & over again". i go to check on her & see her at the bottom of the stairs. i said, 'what happened'? & she said, "what do you mean what happened? i just slipped down these damn stairs!"

  • continued... my friend didn't actually fall, she pretended to & i fell for it. it was a set up joke & once i realized that, we both started laughing in hysterics. that was too funny. mostly since i should have known better. i felt like a fool for falling for it, but it was it was still funny all the same. i always think about that time with my friend when that sample comes up in this song.

  • @j7609 THAT is hilarious!! I can totally picture it!! Thanks for sharing. :)

  • Actually, this version is available. It's Stairs and Flowers (Def Wish) off of Twelve Inch Anthology.

  • Ugh, I can't find the re-mix of this song that they use on this video!!! :( I've listened to the Dub version and the Too Far Gone remix but none of them match this! :(

  • this version of the song is not available on any format but video, sorry.....though i do know how to convert youtube files to mp3 sound files so i have it...but thats just me

  • It's on the 12" single and on the

    '12" Anthology'(surprised? ;P )

  • hush you

  • classic. :)

  • Has anyone heard anything about the up coming solo CD by ohGr?

  • ehh..interesante género musical..habré de bajar un disco ja

  • simply amazing

  • nice song! Skinny Puppy are the gods of electronic music.

  • It's not the "Too Far Gone" mix. Far as I know, this particular mix is exclusive to the video, which is a shame considering it's the only version I like, and I like it a LOT (one of my favorite Skinny Puppy tunes).

  • I love the dub remix

  • I believe it's the Too Far Gone mix :).

  • ahahaha i go through the opening sequence every day...its called waking up at 5:50am :P

yeah, what remix is this anyways? wickedawesome.

  • i use to have this single when i was younger and chainsaw wish i still had them

  • Love it!Anyone knows which version this is?
