  • what are you crazy kids talkin bout

  • hey youtube! this is a sphinctor

  • I posted a response since the mix uses fruity scratcher. Just showing what I did with it.

  • AWESOME BRO! Got this joint down nice homie.

  • I have a problem with FL Stcrather.

It keeps changing speed (speeding up and slowing down) at totally random times.

    CAN ANYONE EXPLAIN WHY???

  • @MiracleKD18 yeah happens to me sometimes ??????

  • Hey, contrary to most questions here, how do you set the color for mixer tracks? I've been trying it for ages and all I can do is press Ctrl+L in a channel that has a specified color. It sends it automatically to the first empty mixer track and "colors" it.

    Please.

  • Hey, I am trying to learn how to use FL Studio 9, kind of a how to for dummies. I got the thing open when you can make loops, but that is about all I've found out how to make so far.

  • Thanks for these no-nonsense videos for doing legit shit in FL.

  • I like your circle of fifths background in FL Studios...I tried to google it, where did you get yours?

  • That beat is SICK! How did you make that? And how do you put downloaded beats into fl studio 9 XXL?

  • Thanks mate! I follow your tutorial exactly and I got it :} I am proper scratching!

  • wow man i watched a 4 part video and didnt get anything out of it 10 min each video and you did what i wanted in one video 9 min! wow subbd just bcuz of that. THANKS

  • i mean by using midi controler

  • is it posible to put the turntable on modulator button so when u spin the button the vinyl spins wit it ?

  • im gonna try using the pitch knob on my midi keyboard to do the scratching and thanks i learned alot from this video!!

  • How do you find the fruity envalope controller?

  • Everytime i link the controller, i right click on the mute and it wont open.. it stays open for a bit, then it dissapears, then i try again and it happens again.. how do i fix this?

  • Amazing video, You should be a music teacher for Fl lol.

  • this is ma man!!!

  • thanks !! i was lookin so much for a scratcher tutorial.that rocks!!

  • nice one buddy!!

  • Could you please publish the scratch mp3 file? I just can't find any good scratches, neither humanized ones :/

Thanks a lot, your tutorial really helped me!

  • Someone please help me out, what is all the buffersmaples and things about like what is it? Please reply people.

  • Can you PLEASE tell me how to stop the underruns. It is so annoying and i can't get it to stop.

Also, why do my tracks always speed up and slow down at random times when i don't even tell it to? Please help me thanks

  • @DCP1292 Try also a different sound driver if you have the ASIO package installed, I usually get better performance with that. If not, you might be getting underruns simply due to your CPU not being able to keep up. Might be time to upgrade or get an ASIO compatible sound card.

  • can u record it on edison?

  • @hudini2 Yes you can. However, because the method I showed utilized Midi signalling, I prefer that as it would produce a smaller FLP file and is easier to edit.

  • @AcePincter

    how cn i do tht?

  • Oh my god, audio buffer in 43ms!? How can you live with yourself! Nah, i'm just kidding, but take "Use Polling" off and you can decrease your buffering from 43ms to 12ms. Thumbs up!

  • @henrijuhani Ha! I only get 43ms when I do these videos! The sound won't be in it if I use ASIO drivers while doing my video capture - the video program doesn;t know ASIO. Bummer.

  • @AcePincter Haha, I know this is an old post, but I had the same problem. I use Camtasia Studio for my video capture. If you use it too, (maybe it might work even if you don't) I exit out of the video recorder, go into FL, change my audio driver to my primary sound driver, then I open the video recorder, and while that's open, go back into FL and then you can select your ASIO driver, and it *should* work. Kind of a loophole, I guess.

  • @henrijuhani What is a decent buffer-range? I have to set mine to 100ms to not get any underruns. It seems like that's a pretty bad range to be at, and to boot I have a Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer Fatal1ty soundcard & 2 gigs of RAM. Is there somthing I should change to get better functionality?

  • @pimptastic13 Yeah, 100ms creates so big latency that you're not able to play keyboards etc. And overall 100ms can be pretty fucked up buffer size, even when mixing. I'm not familiar with your soundcard so it's pretty hard to say anything on that. I recommend you download ASIO driver. I bet it will work fine with your soundcard and lets you decrease the buffer size to 12-26ms. And i can't stress enough about setting off the "Use Polling" setting in Fruity Audio Setup :D

  • @pimptastic13 Shit, i forgot to say that you should take a look at the Fruity's manual contents... search for "audio buffer" and you'll get lots of tips how to reduce buffer size. It helped me.

  • @TheDanielKnee Thanks for your advice...after some updating & changing of my settings I got my buffer size down to 20ms through an ASIO driver.

  • hey I am having problems with this. after I assign the mute button to the envelope controller, when I press a key on the keyboard, the volume comes on, and it's only when I let go of the key that it is muted. is there any way to reverse this, so that when I press the key, it mutes? thanks if you can help

  • @culturaleyes Yep! You can do it two ways. You can go to your mute mapping on the scratcher, and change the formula from "normal" to "inverted", which will reverse the ON/OFF positions, or you can change the position of the Level and Envelope faders on the "Fruity envelope controller" to be opposite what I show in the vid. This will keep the mute button signalled, and send a negative signal when you press.

  • @AcePincter

I'm sorry can you explain this in more detail? I don't understand what to do. Where is the "mute mapping on the scratcher?"

And which button do I press to change the formula?

  • so when I press record it asks me if I want to record as automation, record all, and 2 other crap. Which one do I choose?

  • lol

  • ´This is ace.....pincturrrr´ haha tnx!

  • Man u really helped! U ROCK! also i noticed sometimes there's a conflict issue with laptop touch pads

  • Great video man you actually helped me understandi it alot and can add nice scratches to my beats

  • Fuck man, when I watch some of these videos Im always feelin stupid as hell...I been using FL for eight years and I dont know shit, I thought my beats were really good but theres so much I dont know about effects and ...well everything.

I would love for someone to help me with the technical side of things, me beats are good but I need that boost, peep the channel if ur curious.

  • @invectrum well i think its just the fact that theres SO much in this program, that it would take forever to understand really.

  • @EliteAssassin8 thats true but i know a couple people that are like genious at it. I wanna get to that level...u produce?

  • @invectrum well i just started but i got the jest of it, i think.

  • wow

  • why arent you famous?

  • dude you don't explain how you put the filter and the envelope in.

  • Thanks a lot man, this was very useful to me !

  • Damn man you can only get your buffer down to 40ms? I use ASIO2 and the buffer is preset to 1ms. It don't even have a slider because its ASIO2. You must be using a stock sound card and not a audio interface.

  • @absurdny Want a medal or something? Shame your asio2 doesn't make your shitty music sound better.

  • @andosmate

Ok thats why I sell more beats in a week then songs you listen to in a year

  • thanks :)

  • nice a bit technical but good

  • What are your input settings? I can trigger the mute button only once via keyboard. I use FL8 also.

  • very good tutorial.

  • Where do you get that plugin ?

  • @TheDenux It comes with FL Studio.

  • Really NICE scratchin for FL!!!

  • Lol, 2:18 sounds like a duck:P

  • how do you open the envelope controller?

  • current project/ automation

  • when i open the scratcher there's no waves below it =/, (waves being where u do the x axis movement) ive looked on every tutorial i can find and theres nothing about it. can anyone help?

  • have you tried adding a sound to the scratcher?

  • well thats the thing, im new to FL, an i try to find tutorials that explain how to do that but i cant find non, so basically i dont know how lol

  • @Cutt1994

Try to drag & drop a sound into the fruity scratcher's wave window. That should work.

  • Comment removed

  • @Cutt1994 you drag a beat or sample voice into the box

  • Listen to this guy's beat.. i heard the james brown sample and had no words..one of the best samples i've ever heard!!!

    /watch?v=fkVGWLq4Rdw

    you gon love this!

  • @Popaye031 lol really?

  • I still don't know where the open the actual scratcher -_-

  • thats already been answered twice , its in the mixer. if you cant find the mixer look at the little buttons at the top right on the screen, theres a group of five together, its the one on the right. it will say mixer when you put the cursor over it. open the mixer then look to the upper right of the mixer window and you will see 1 through 8. those are for adding effects. click the upside down triangle , stay on select, then find the slicer. now go find a tutorial on fade outs/ automation clips

  • @sozcaps go to the mixer and select it

  • never mind buht good tutorial g

    mad help

  • how do u create n envelope controller

  • Cool tutorial

  • how do you get that vinyl scratcher?

  • in the master mixer on the right, click the down arrow and choose the fruity scratcher

  • go to a mixer track in the mixer nd find the scrater

  • I have 1ms delay ^^ Hell yeah nice tutorial : ]

  • hello Fruity Sratcher place in to fl studio appear error:

"There was a problem opening Fruity Scratcher for an unknown reason.

Please make sure it has been instaled correctly."

    Please help. Thanks

  • so reinstall it

  • @LiviutuASK2 how the fuck do you want him to know what's the problem with your plugin? It could be anything. Maybe you don't HAVE the fruity scratcher. Check in the plugin database.

  • how do you link your normal pc keyboard to the mute knob

  • great tutorial!

  • let homie spitt some game an stop hatin6

  • thats what SHE said

  • Comment removed

  • you cant even spell..

  • i did not understand the part where you scratch and it automatically detects the sounds and mutes on the empty part?

i got it linked to the envelope but when I scrtach either its mute and when I turn the mute of its you know what! but I can get it working with what you call that formula controller but not the way you got with env detecting empty stuff ..

please tell! and discard my last comment! it was for my chat box!

  • Asio drivers seem to handle short buffer lengths better with less under runs...

With my primary sound driver, I can only go down to about 512 samples, but with Asio4all, I can get down to about 128 samples...

  • haha i have been lookin for a basic tutorial for the scratcher!!! thanks this helps alot lol

  • when you scratch a sample or track how can you save it? plz reply ppl

  • Put Edison onto the mixer with your scratcher. Then, record.

  • how is it done? could you tell, please?

  • definitly you seem to be a boss on Fruity dude !

  • huh? What did I say? haha, I think my friend might have said something that I didn't know about. tell me what that comment said please.

  • you sound like brad pitt

  • I have a question. When I press the z key, it doesn't trigger sound anymore. How do I get it working again? Plz reply! :(

  • Have you ever taken any music classes? You definately know what your doing

  • This kid... is so freaking smart.... with FL... and with Music...

  • over lapping of the song

  • wtf is an underrun? been using FL Studio 8 for a week now...

  • Its when the computer runs out of sound to play, because FL Studio hasnt calculated whats coming up fast enough. Youll hear it as a skip in the song (with long buffer lengths), or a pop or a click (with shorter ones), Low buffer lengths are good because FL studio only takes user input once the buffer is full; but its bad because it takes a faster computer to process the sound in time.

  • Very nice tutorial!

  • for some reason when i link the hold button to the envelope controller it will turn on but wont go back off after i let go of the key

  • You don't hold and let go, you have to tap it twice.

  • the piano roll doesnt record my table position or notes properly... any ideas why ?

  • I not sure if this way is acurate as u want or if i remember clearly (since I dont use it), but what I saw it was possible is using a peak controller + peak for ur scratcher. u can use a 3xosc and mute it with the peak contr-. I guess to get the peak higher on lower will b velocities?

If this is wrong just correct me, dont flame.

  • @dvsjaymusic It is accurate, DVS - but it's cumbersome. They added in the Fruity Envelope controller to do a simple envelope without having to use 2 components and waste a mixer insert in the process. Plus, you can get a hell of a lot of extra features out of using the envelope design on this tool.

  • how you render it? like if i save it has the wave format it doesn't work

  • I never thought to do this...good job =]

  • really good.

  • this was awesome. thanks! +5 stars for you my friend.

  • This guy has dope tutorials. Good work.

  • Get ASIO so you don't have to worry about delay/underruns

  • how to lunch scratcher please

  • put some peanut butter on it

  • haha lol good one

  • 1 - Click on the channel that you would like to use with the scratcher, hich will open up the Channel Settings window

2 - Double click on the effect selector (top right hand corner of the Channel Settings window - labeled "FX")

    3 - Select a clear effect channel

4 - Add the effect "Fruity Scratcher" from your effects list

  • Yeah, thnx man, really good help!

    Peace!

  • This is awesome tutorial... (virtual high-five)...

but feartic was right about you not explaining the envelope controller properly, took me about 20 min trying to figure it out. but good job anyway

  • good job man really help this:)

  • ace sphincter?

  • where to find the FL scratcher??

  • go to mixer and go to any channel, it could be master if you want it but once your at master or whatever you chose, go to the right and where there's numbers like 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 you go to one of the numbers and press the down arrow its right next to the number, its called the FX slot. go to "select" and look around for the "Fruity Scratcher" click it and the fruity scracther should pop up. you can drag a sound onto the fruity scratcher and scratch it up. hope this helped!

  • yeah.. its help.. btw y i move the turn table but no sound of scratcher? hahaha

  • did you try dragging a sound onto the scratcher?

  • @qAyyUm Its in the mixer same place as edison

  • can you use like a usb turntable with it?

  • Awesome, thanks so much for putting this together. I've been trying to pick up FL by ear, but couldn't figure out how to set the scratcher up.

  • Nice tut man! Thanks for live mode, that's so cool!

  • thanx dude 5 STAR :)

  • Man I looked at your vid like three times and still don't get what your saying..how did you get the scratcher on the pattern and get it to trecord? I did the same thing you did and it didn't do anything...

  • can you please tell me where i can get the scratch sample you used? or can anyone tell me where i can get good scratch sounds i can use for the scratcher?

  • i have a problem. how come if im listening to this video or itunes or any other audio i can't hear anything on fl studio? and the same in reverse? pleaseeeee help

  • drag the your audio file and realse at fruity scratcher

  • do you use your asio 4 all?....then turn it off...but if you want to record vocals turn it on again...

  • that worked!!! thank youu haha. how could i ever repay you?

  • no problem

  • and yeah..i found out something new about that, just watch this tutorial...there is something very useful at the end of the tut...

  • Nice tutorial, i learned a few new things but i wonder if it's possible to automate the scratch position using an XY controller? I've tried before but maybe i'm doing something wrong.

  • AcePincter says what?
