I remember this song growing up in Nigeria back in the early 80s.. i was highly in love with it.. Been looking for it in Nigeria and cant find it.. so happy i found it on youtube.. i dont know how to get the cd.. Concolesse music so great.. Good job josky
This guy next to Josky has been a mystery to me too, he is not Lokombe Ntal, he looks much taller than Lokombe. He is not Aime Kiwakana either and i have never seen him on any of the many Tp OK jazz videos. By the way can someone tell me what happened to Kiesse Diambu, the lead vocal on "Vaccination"
Nobody (no musician) any where had this unique, skillful and extra ordinary START of a track by all standards. You could never tell which instrument will ring-out first or who (vocals) would jump in when. And even after something started there was an immediate turn of the melody much to your satisfaction.
another great performance by TPOK..... methinks the board commandant was the best lead vocalist followed by La Pigeon Voyageur, then Youlou Mabiala, Djo Mpoyi, Wuta Mayi, Madilu in that order
thank you rahndi for all your videos of these fantastic studio live performances such wonderfull music1111 i love the movement the musicians have . i love the expression and the style of the guitarist gerry? in all the videos he is in he looks so earnest and a real nice guy!!thank you rahndi!!!
Amen. May the heavens open up to let one of its own in. Byalu Madillu leaves a gap that no one would hope to fill, but his melodious voice will live on forever. RIP, "Multi - Sysytem!".
In prayer to the almighty May I request all TPOK fans to observe a minutes' silence in honour of our departed hero Madilu System. The lord decided to make his servant rest from music on earth w.e.f AD2007 August 11 in Kinshasa. R.I.P Madilu
It is wonderful just how every one of Us declares this and that of the TPOK songs as the best of all. I am sure at the end of the day we agree that all the songs were equal and the best. They are/were in a class of their own. Continue your rankings. The Old Man was a genius that Us -the younger generation- had no chance of understanding. The older of Us must have enjoyed it all. Advantages of coming early. Talk of the early bird
But Wawaria, what do you think of Okatch Biggy, Dr. Collela Mazee, Musa Juma, Regi Kabasselleh, Sukuma Bin Ongaro, Nyongea wa Muganda? I think they were/are great too, what they missed/miss out was lack of exposure and business skills . Musa Juma lacks skill to persuade good musicians to stay on like Luambo did, very proud!
Yes oyooe: Great Musicians, played music and educated. But publicity.Franco has special place, Gifts from above. Most musicians lack Management/Publicity,and marketing: implying lack of entrepreneurship. Musa Juma, is good Musician. Video output leaves..?. Okatch Biggy of the Nyathi-Nyakach fame. Was great, but DVD? Kenyans took long time to appreciate art as profession that pays. How many suffered in parents' hands for singing, Sports, Dancing, etc?
Hope you are just provoking a discussion! Guiter lines are played as per genre and timbre intent in music. Sometimes, unless you provide two players a coherent music to play, it is difficult to judge. But we genrally may say so and so is more gifted. Collela was a talent we miss
The Audio quality is poor but listening to this song live, I strongly belive this was Franco at his best. I listened to this song in Philadelphia 200 years CelCentury Celebration. BB King was in the house and other African Mucians. It just like yesterday this song makes my white hair stand. The best Guiter arrangement that magnifies Luambo's talent

Ochieng100, the man on the left is Djangi Checain, AKA Lola Checain

who is the man on the extreme left. I have seen him in subsequent franco's performance and have loved his peristence.
A great number though. Franco and TP jazz was really a talented lot!
Since francos demise, congolese music seem to be on the downward trend. Why?
