  • do you let off the gas when you shift?

  • @chevyskillfords I keep it to the floor. its an automatic so no need to. it may sound like i do bc i have a 700r4 with no shift kit and 2.73 rearend gears. gonna falls on its face when i grab second lol. some day ill put 3.73 in the rearend.

  • @niemann78mc if its an automatic then y are u fiddling with shifter . might sound like a stupid question but oh well.

  • @TheRb16 Im just showing everyone how a Ratchet shifter works. You just click it up to shift up and it doesnt move. Plus when im just cruisin for milage a hate where it shifts. and goes into drive and overdrive too soon and lugs. Like i said i posted this just to show how the quick silver works. Its pretty cool i think

  • @TheRb16 automatic shift even up and down two gears if your just in drive, its a safety thing but if you select a gear, it shifts that one gear and stays there until you move up a gear like a manual this way you get maximum engine performance, but with stock shift kit you cant shift quick enough to not tear up trans. you have to press a button before you put it in gear. quicksilver you jus bump it in gear and take off

  • shift kits works best for motor that turn gears fast

  • Kevrs2, ur a dumbass. Manuals aren't hard to drive at all. But when ur cruisin on the streets with cars bumper to bumper it would just be a bitch. But then again you prolly always need a rod in ur hand.

  • thanks for backing me up guys. and its not all bout racing. I like the rachet bc i dont really like wear the 700r4 shifts when im cruising. and my original shifter would slide pass gears when i would go up. Plus i really like the quicksilver bc it doesnt have one of those levers you have to pull to disengage the reverse lock out. With this shift, you put it in ur final drive gear and pull the whole thing up over a hook that looks it from reverse.

  • dude i bought it bc it looks way better than the stock shifter. and man i bet i can drive a manual better than you can. Ive drove a Caddy Cts-v with a 6spd. 400hp.

  • I think the b&m quicksilver ratchet shifters are the way to go.

  • @Ford302ism i think this sort of thing is for faggots that cant drive a proper car ,give them a big shiny knob to pull ,and they can let on that they driving a manual ,oh and without all that hassle of using a clutch ah well the boneheads have to be catered for vroom vroom hahaha

  • @kevrs2 You are quite retarded. If you use these shifters with a manual valve body, they out preform manual transmissions badly. If you dont believe me, ask yourself this question. Why do almost all serious drag racers race Automatic transmissions with manual valve bodies along with a ratchet shifter? Do your research next time before you comment and look like a moron.

  • @8jhusk ok the reason most people use auto boxs is because ,thats all there was available at the time ,so they made use of what they had ,but times have changed, and anyway it aint all about drag racing ,:)

  • @kevrs2 hey doink, im not talking about "at the time", im talking about right now go look at my buddies 9 second race car and guess what you will find........ an auto tranny with a manual valve body and a ratchet shifter. Its backing a 550 horse/torque sbc. Put your FWD, POS honda up against that................ Man i love destroying ricers, its just too easy.

  • @8jhusk first of i dont believe you have a buddy not unless hes your bum buddy ,and also auto boxs are for gaylords that dont know how to drive a manual ,that has been proving ,and i dont drive a honda ,and the only thing you drive is your thumb up your ass :)

  • @kevrs2 I replied with a valid point and you replied with nonsence........goodbye

  • @8jhusk This Guy "KEVRS2" is popping up all over the place talking smack about AOD's of all types! He is probably some kid that is Youtube tuff and drives a Honda! Don't let him under your skin. Your totally right about Auto's and racing!

  • you can just put it in drive for cruising and click it all the way down and go through the gears.

  • thinking of putting one in my 67 c10 just trying to understand how they work exactly so you ither drop it in drive and golike a normal auto or you can go to neutreal drop then drop it down to first and then shift up on your own...
