Sega actually spent a good chunk of money advertising SC5 on MTV through things like this. It unfortunately never returned very much as far as console sales and SC5 didn't sell to well here in the US and Sega lost a lot of money in the process. One of the many reasons Dreamcast tanked so quickly and Sega bowed out of the hardware market.

And if you've watched "Josie and the Pussycats" film around the time Space Channel 5 premiered on the Dreamcast, you can see Ulala cardboard standee's in the music store scene where Wyatt is demoing a Dujour album.

even at the "sega mega arena" there was ads on screen while they were trapped from Fiona and Wyatt, I'm a huge Sega fan, and that's one of the reasons why I loved this movie! And as for the advertising, it was a joke, just to show how much it is around teenagers
