The recruiters were a pain for us young folk back in the day. They'd pick you up off the beach and give you this b.s. that you were a lock for the coke commercial. They'd bring hundreds to the audition spot and end up with 5 or 6. What a waste of time, but hey at 17 or 18 you're gullible as hell. They're lookin for a certain look as well as having the obligatory rainbow colors there too.
I wouldn't trade my childhood days in the 70s for anything. Modern times suck and kids are already jaded and cynical before they even reach the age 12.
@yarbles67 Look I get exactly what your saying. Just don't speak for all of us kids. Some of us would trade the world to live in those times (like me). As a 13 year old of generation Y I have to say its was much better back then. And i can appreciate that without all those things we wouldn't have the things we have today. Although I hate Justin Beiber, he wouldn't be shit without muscians in the 60's,70's, 80's, etc.
@TheStationable I hear ya. I'm the dad of three such kids unfortunately :) Spoiled brats - probably my fault since I'm the dad! I do realize it's much tougher now to be a kid than back then. Sadly, there's no going back to those simpler, more carefree times. Kids are forced to be adults way before we had to back then.
@yarbles67 I know, some of my friends are constantly trying to act older than they are. I'm like Guys were only 13, why should we be worrying about that crap? I mean like back then you could be a kid and a kid only. But now were all obsessed and worried about being adults. Wow... again I would trade the world to go back then, I wouldn't be should an outsider then cause I could listen to that kind of music without getting criticized and I would be able to hang out with actual kids being kids...
Coke should get all these people together for a reunion and do it again 40 years later...It would be a hit with us Baby Boomers and would be cool to see all those folks today...later...got to go and get a cold Coke!!
An excellent video showing how Coca Cola exploits people in countries where needs are very great.
