Rufus's acting in this bit is so fun! I must say men in fadoras are soo handsome. His dramatic breath in sets me to laughing every time. Too bad he can't take the bull. . lolol
Man, the old lady is fierce. Her tight grip and mind tricks were all done in on one night, that being said, she was still funny as anything. "You scheming brat," and the topper: her expression @ 1:49 when the two dusty ones kiss - " URK ! " Funny - Funny - Funny.
I remember vividly seeing this in 1995. When he uttered that line "I'd take her too but she's gloomy" the theater shook with laughter. What an impeccably delivered line!
I laughed 'til I choked!

What really makes Seth's departure is the grandiose background music. Tara's Theme, isn't it? I was in hysterics when I first saw the scene.

How convenient for the human conscience to account for everything by saying "Lord's will".

Sometime's it is "the Lord's will". In this case...maybe not. I'll send you a card.

Even the lighting of that scene is pure Hollywood - when the mother is trotting along beside the car as they drive away... Perfect.
