@TheMisterYang Its easier to do this because we can make the silk as long or as thick as we want by modifying the gene, plus the goat will make this a lot faster than regrowing hair. Hair won't really work because we would have to find a way to put the hairs together and it won't be as effective.

I don't know who is funding the process, but it is coming from here..... The biowar division of the the US military at SBCCOM (Soldier Biological Chemical Command). Maybe someone can look into it further from here, it would be very interesting to know who is funding it, I totally agree.

I actually heard that among other things the spider melds well with human DNA and the real reason behind all this is to give human tendons and cartilage and the discs in your back as resilient as spider web. and who knows maybe even the skin.

Goats were one of the first animals to be domesticated and have been for thousands of years. This is a total waste of time! There are bird eating spiders that make huge amounts of silk. Just keep the spiders seperate from each other! Then they cant eat each other,its not rocket science!
