@davidwalach It does somehow make the loss easier to bear when another fella like yourself can relate to losses of this kind, Thank God for the information age.....for we are all sentimental bastards at heart. Thank the maker for Slayd5000. Wish he was in Atlanta, Id buy him a bottle of Scotch and roll him a fatty :-)
@Slayd5k Just wanted to say thanks for putting this up here. I've never heard the LP version but I figured there had to be one. This is one of those feel-good classics that move and motivate you at the same time. Thanks again for this gem.
@gifted1der It 's my pleasure to share, but I just wanted to let'cha know, that this is the "Special Disco Version" as CBS used to note on most of their 12" releases at the time. The LP version is actually much shorter and clocks in just over 7 minutes (7:02). Still longer than the 7" mix (3:38) but way shorter than the 12" (10:45) which is my favorite of them all. :)
@Slayd5K I didn't even know they made special disco versions. That's a cool tidbit. I'm loving this version though so I'll take your word that this is probably the best one. :)
@Slayd5K Been checking out your channel for the last few days, and I've been thinking about telling you how awesome it is that you're sharing your wonderful record collection, but I had to stop and say something now. I must include that I really like your style as well, such a class act. Very well explained about the difference among record pressings. Thanks again.
This was one of my favorite songs to skate or do housework that I did not want to!!! The original inspirational song along with "Wake Up Everybody" by Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes featuring the late Teddy Pendergrass on lead vocals!! I miss these two men. I did not know what happened to them until recently when I had heard they had passed on!!! RIP McFadden and Whitehead!!! Will fit into any club scene today!! Ageless and priceless!!! Philly Sound at its best!!!!
This is a Philly anthem! Got this a couple weeks back at a flea market for $1! Timeless classic, it will never get old. The original inspirational song! This right here is what gets me through the bad days!

Luther Vandross did a decent cover of this on his "Songs" album, but nothing beats the original. Thank you so much for sharing this! :)

@oldschoolbx1970 My dad still has his - every now and then we dust it off and play it (my dad says you can't beat vinyl)

@da247 I like your comment. I collect used vinyl and listen to those joints. Now I gotta remind my moms and my aunt to do the same, too. Lol.
