it is just awesome. back in 1990 i bought a camry 2.5 v6 and guess what. i still drive it today. its got more than 300,000km on it and it still goes strong. toyota forever!
pretty quick for a 1990 back in the day....but its ultimately a fail because its a rule...you cannot be cool with a car with government issued automatic seat belts LOL...fuck you govt!
90 camry156 HP out of 2.5 liters V6 4 valves per cylinder Dohc set up, sound's about correct for 1988 to 91 techology & emissions. In comparison, a BMW 525i sohc 2.5 I6 motor only push 158hp in 1990.
@choidj There is a slight difference, the 87-90 camries had the word "toyota" on the front grille, while the 91s had the toyota "oval t" logo on them, which toyota started using in 1991
I love that car & I miss that slogan & jump!!! I was only a toddler when they used the "I love what you do for meTOYOTA!!" slogan & I still remember it!!!
I had an '88 Camry 4cyl. DX, same basic body style as this one. The engine leaked massive amounts of oil and cost $1,000 to repair. It burned oil out the exhaust as well. The engine had surging problems during acceleration. The vinyl skin on interior doors delaminated. Other interior trim fell off. The 4cyl. vibrated horribly at idle. The seats were terribly uncomfortable. The suspension bottomed out so easily. I enjoyed driving it, but damn it was a nightmare to own! And it had just 138k miles.
These were OK, but the next Gen Camry were some of the most reliable cars ever. Toyota was on top of their game then. the Lexus LS400 of that time is considered the most reliable car ever.
They were small, uncomfortable, ugly and ran rough after about 50,000 miles (tune-ups didn't fix it).
They were very well made and reliable, but that's their only saving grace. The next generation, which a great aunt of mine owned, was a much better car.
THIS IS THE GAYEST COMMERCIAL EVER! POWERFUL!?!?!?! LMFAO!!!!!

@celticsdude Oh, I knew there would be a difference. I just didn't know what. Thanks.

@celticsdude Some later build 1990s also had the T logo and they started having color-keyed door handles at this time too on the DX and LE models.
