  • touchDOWN

  • when is a game just a game? this video shows the joy shared by all when a special needs young man's greatest feeling about himself comes in what we who are not handicapped in any way call a game, not a trophy, not school rivalry........a game as it was intended to be to contribute to all who view this.

  • this is soooo sweet i bet it made him feel sooooo good

  • For those who didnt read the news paper article. The winning team allowed Ike to have that touchdown killing their chances at a close out game. Its a very big deal and these kids are amazing for what they have done for one boy with special needs. And to those of you who havent reached puberty and have smart comments to make save your breath cause the world is turning just fine without you. GO IKE!!! And God bless both teams for being so amazing.

  • See he must have been soo happy :)

  • thats amazing. but i wonder if Ike's TD really affected the game or how it changed the game. like if the other team was killing them and the just let him do it or what?

  • whyd they let the other team win i dont get it. they could have tackled him like 3 times

  • @boobjob69 are u dumb? he has down syndrome. the team was losing so badly they cud afford to let them score, so they let him run a touchdown. prob made his day

  • @boobjob69 It was a planned play. The other team let him (Ike) get a touchdown because he has downsyndrome. Like the video says; Sports don't build character, they reveal it.

  • It’s amazing how unselfish and compassionate kids can be when they are raised right. I hope you show this video to your kids when you get home from work today.

  • @mrrheades No not saying that at all. What I am saying is that these kids have heart and compassion. Big difference from a doormat like you would compare them to. And maybe you are right on one point because who knows? Maybe Ike can change things and be in the NFL. So in your own pathetic way you have pointed something good out. Bravo.

  • This is sweet, but if he ever finds out that it was planned. imagine the blow to him.

  • My Alma Mater. Couldnt be more proud! <3 my highschool.

  • we arent debating whether or not this is a class act we're debating why this is so special? if this happened to a kid with a normally functioning brain no one would care. people would be like WTF IS THE DEFENSE DOING?

so what im saying is Ike didn't do anything special. they let him score. big deal..... classy but not a big deal.

  • This is so sweet.

    A great moment

  • @fumiddle

you are probably going to a bad place after you die i'm gonnaa find out who you are you terrible evil person.

  • @wazdz LMAO no such thing as a ''good'' or ''bad'' place u go to when u die.your just gone dumb ass.

  • this is the perfect play for a confirmed undefeated season just do it every time and the defense will feel too bad to tackle him!

  • i would of striped the ball from him and ran it back on dat ass....or i would of turnd the crowds cheerin into a mass eruption of awwws ooohhhhs and oooooos after i speard him to the ground and walk of the feild

  • now i know why the call it a touchDOWN

  • @MrDrBalls Yes it's true sports are about competition, but this was'nt about competition. It was about helping someone else realize(spelling) a dream that would otherwise not happen. It was a show of sportsmanship. Some of those kids might move on to the NFL or bigger things and this one time they can let someone, who will not have that chance, to shine and they did it. It's not the softening of America, it's showing heart.

  • ike faked out that safety. go ike

  • Mike is the BOMB!!!!

  • If someone hit IKE this video would have more views. "Down Syndrome Kid Gets Tackled"

  • @cbrad3232 could probably outrun and juke you out of your shoes.

  • @BrownMan59 that I am sure of, because I do not have any legs.

  • @cbrad3232 lmao (not laughing at the fact that you don't have legs, but because of what i said and your response)

  • aaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwww <3 <3 <3 <3

  • why does he not have the "S" on his helmet like the other teammates?

  • one morron disliked this.

    i thought it was beautiful!

  • this kid is a fuqn gagsta

  • wow this is so powerful thats what you call sports when you let the disabled get a chance at something.. this made my day..

  • This is probably one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

  • all of these people that are being complete assholes about this video, shame on you. i hope you all go to hell

  • He can take Jamarcus Russell's spot on the Oakland Raider's line up.

  • If i were the coach of the defending team number 15 would never play again. He had a perfect shot to put that kid on his ass and in the showers.

  • @DamnTittyBaby the coach of the other team was in on the whole thing. They let the kid score to boost his self esteem. They were loosing and there was only 10 sec left in the game.

  • @DamnTittyBaby they let him do it dude. you're an idiot.

  • thank you all so very much for showing the world what life and sports should be all about...I'..m sure in the long run you all will get more out of that play that knocking him down..didn't it make you feel good just to see him smile...thanks for making me smile

  • What is with this kid, freaking Barry Sanders over here someone make a tackle on this kid!

  • I never got to score a touchdown because people felt sorry for me :(

  • GO IKE!

  • This is so lame. Sports are a competition - not a charity. If he needs a trophy then go buy him one but don't dilute the value of athletic competition. Ah, the softening of America... has Nero begun to fiddle yet?

  • These are truly great kids! They get it, The parents and educators of these kids deserve a hearty well done on raising these fine young men. They have renewed my hope in humanity. God Bless Everyone involved!

  • both of the players on these teams have huge character and coming from highschoolers its a big deal. we all know how cruel some can be. to see this is amazing. its too bad we cant see the smile on his face as he scores. congrats to IKE, his teammates, coaches and opponents in this game.

  • Try stepping into Ike's shoes for a moment

The negativity will disappear if you do. Imagine dealing with obstacles all his life, yet he carries on!

"Special Needs Kids" both young and old...teach us a great deal about how the world should be...with huge hearts...they care show us compassion and joy...it's humbling ...Try volunteering for The Special Olympics...you'll soon find out that no matter what the handicap is for the Special needs athlete...they always fill the arena with lots of joy!

  • It was sportsmanship and heartwarming. But Ever see that DS that scored consecutive 3 pointers in basketball? That was an atheletic performance and one of the best of all time. Handing a kid a touchdown simply because he is mentally impaired weakens their cause. What about the DS kid(s) who want to play FB legitly? How does this help them? Not one bit.

  • @ccheath776 Are you actually saying that handing anyone a moment of joy is a disservice??? Do you realize that most people born with Downs Syndrome don't get to grow old?? Why ???? Often, they are afflicted with many health problems...and their hearts weaken over time. My thought...Share in the Moments of Joy!

  • @ccheath776 i think that kid was autistic, he didnt have DS, theres a big difference in those

  • i wish i waz on th other team & some1 would've tried 2 hit this kid. he never would have got th TD. he would've dropped th ball from laffin @ th guy tht just [accidentally] got flipped by his own teammate. some people are born with a mental problem, i don't know wher th rest of u idiot's get it from GOOD JOB IKE!!!!!

  • ( ahem ) Firstly - I would have let him score as well. This kid is not an idiot, he knows they let him score and although it is heartwarming. This is a huge setback for all disabled athletes, some who would be perfectly capable of scoring that TD without help. The message here is that a down syndrome kid can't play FB without help. This does nothing for the 100's of other DS sufferers who can play legit but now cant because of this stupid video. Thumbs DOWN

  • @ccheath776 reflecting on the video and your comments as well as the others...I believe you said the message..."that a down syndrome kid can't play FB without help"...I ask you...Can any football player...handicapped or "normal"(whatever that is) play without help????...Football is a TEAM SPORT...they all help each other...they practice, develop their skills and play with their heart and souls for the Love of the Game...Together...United as a TEAM...as a Football Family.

  • This is awesome! I loved it! The love of the team mates, not the game! Goes to show it is not all about the game.

  • wow when ike's teammate hug him in celebration i got goosebumps.

  • they should have just done this play the entire game

  • DRAW PLAY! JUKES TWO TACKLERS ENDZONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TD!

  • plucks my heart strings

  • I heard Notre Dame is going to recruit him.

  • Put a smile on my face. Great sportsmanship by both teams. Also, epic juke at 0:08.

  • I woulda lit him up

  • It's amazing to see such hate on an inspirational video like this..

  • Big ups 2 those guys.

  • I saw a holding, shouldve called it back

  • you know number 15 wanted to hit that kid! lol

  • The team that the guy scored for was losing 35 to nothing with a few seconds on the clock. They had nothing to lose. Saying that good sportsmanship is laying the kid out flat just shows that you were one of those meat head guys that in high school picked on people who were smaller and/ or different because of your own self loathing. This is not a varsity game. Grow Up!

  • Kudos to both teams. I'm sure you just made that little man's life.

  • this is pathetic

  • @aro327rulez you think its pathetic to let a guy with down syndrome score a touchdown. there is something wrong with you dude. this is TRUE sportsmanship at its finest

  • @aro327rulez Hmm, trolling on youtube? I take it you know what pathetic is from life experience then.

  • i wouldve stuck his ass

  • props to the other team. way to show sportsmanship!

  • @aZnFLY21 sportsmanship?

sportsmanship would be to lay this kid out

Sportsmanship expresses an aspiration or ethos that the activity will be enjoyed for its own sake, with proper consideration for fairness, ethics, respect, and a sense of fellowship with one's competitors. Being a "good sport" involves being a "good winner" as well as being a "good loser".

    this is pathetic.

  • @aro327rulez you're a fucking retard. its not like they were losing the game or anything. its a fucking kid with downs syndrome..what're going to do, lay him flat out? maybe YOU would cause you cant lay a regular guy out. cut the shit and show respect. i have no clue where the fuck your ass is from, but go back to your punkass community. piece of shit. i bet your ass doesnt even play football so shut the fuck up kid.

  • @aro327rulez READ your fucking comment you made to me. "being a good sport involves being a good winner". this team won, its being a good winner by showing respect to the other team. "sportsmanship expresses fairness, ethics, respect". if this isnt respect, what the fuck is? laying the kid out? dumbshit

  • retards deny evolution

  • this is cool =)

  • the other team let if score

  • that was retarded

  • Pritty cool

  • The Next Adrian Peterson!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i would have lit that kid up. i would have gave him my shoulder to his dome and knock him out .. highlight of the year.

  • that looked like a touch downs syndrome... 7 points.

  • He would have a promising career with the oakland raiders. LOL at least he would be smarter than the entire defensive line!!!

  • So they can just put a kid with downs on the field and get free points? superbowl is gonna be a breeze this year

  • I would have lit him up!! Helmet to Helmet!!!!

  • That my team mate go ike buddy

  • go ike!

  • I went to Lake Stevens High School:(1981) What a cool thing to do!!!

  • Great video and story. Thanks for sharing!

  • THATS AWESOME!!! Ike rules!
