  • watch, there will be wars, hunger and poverty in ghana.

  • Go Ghana go. Ghana has produced electricity non stop for 10 years unlike Nigeria that cannot produce it for 10 hours. Your oil wealth shall be a source of pride to send the curse back to sender: " Nigeria must go bag"

  • dude got greed in his eyes......you can tell

  • Ama Boateng is a beauty

  • @martini-I do not gree in working with other african countries bcs Ghana itself is a country under development nd the Jubilee Field iis the best option to stabilized our economy bcs GHANA will benefit much more than partership with other African countries..Ghana will work alone nd develop our country...nd WILL WOTK ALONE..when other countries found oil the did not PARTNERSHIP WITH OTHERS SO WILL NOT DO IT ...if other countries need help the should seek it somewhere else..

  • I see it as a Bad news, with Oil will come the European companies, taking sides, using devide and rule, thus triggering a Civil war in yet another peaceful African nation.

  • ama boateng kwasia say ur name properly bitch u aint white fool

  • Ghana needs to invest heavily in the development of its human resource. The nation needs to invest greatly in education and health care as well as in physical infrastructure such as roads and rail.

  • @malfini1 you want to change Ghana into USA country full of pollution,,traffic jam ,,hard work from the morning to the night,,,I dont see anything wrong in Ghana,,Most people live a good life there,,Roads,,better natural ,,no any stupid roads,,high rises ,,no way,,,

  • @mocny01 Trust me I would hate to see Ghana become a replica of the American or European nations. Ghana should rather learn from their mistakes and develop its economy based on its needs and resources. There is definitely a need for more widespread education (not necessarily the western model) and the development of indigenous architecture, and social structures and an impovement in agricultural production and health care.

  • @malfini1 i am not Ghanaian but i been there 2 months,,i like attitude of children,,respect to adults,,nothing wrong with Ghana,,people are smart,,believe in God..friendly not racists like for example many Afromericans..I see development as damage..will be full of roads,,high buildings,,hard work,,..agriculture??? i hope not chemicals culture. On West food is fake,,not organic ,,If not fake food in so called developed worldwill be worse than in Ghana..

  • i'm trying to fix the puzzles in my head....The president of the united states recently visited africa and came to ghana....seems the ploy is on the way to hijack the oil industry. Ghana beware do not end up like my naija..

  • best advice for Ghana, work with Norway, avoid china, usa, britain, dutch etc

  • @topazakins yea man, they destroy everythng

  • @topazakins Why not work wit other African nations? There is a ready market within Africa for African oil and other resources. This can help electrify certai parts of Africa and to deveop the manufacturing sector!

  • Quame enquma

  • Hmmh, how deep is the oil?

  • Do NOT tell any white people!!!!

  • @lesliejay63 Dont tell the USA. If they need help from whites hope they deal with only the norwegians. They a human country and best on oil technology... But the best thing was if Ghana can stand up for themselves and not end up like Nigeria.

  • @lesliejay63 Too late. I already watched the video. It's all mine now.

  • @rawdenashitey dumbass the oil is not yours!! normally i like ivorians but u are too greedy!!

  • @rawdenashitey Way to go. Like there isn't war enough yet.

  • And you guys BETTER spend that money on something productive. infrastructure would be a wise investment. DONT SCREW IT UP !!!

  • We do not Kwame Nkruma to safe us. Please Ghanians take action its not alwasy about money.

  • listen, nigeria had oil find, sudan, angola, and recently ghana and uganda. but unless they have proper governments in place it will all go nowhere, all these african countries have billions in oil and billions in gas (yes gas). but will waste their wealth.

  • they need to do like emirates and get structures built and people taught:

    electricity setup

    roads built

    schools setup

    telecoms setup

    sewage plants

    railways

  • Ghana should hold all the aces in the whole oil affairs, and shouldn't be dictated to by ANY FOREIGN GOVERNMENTS!

They shouldn't make the same mistakes my beloved country Nigeria made, and just allow oil to be the main revenue, nor should they allow any shoddy exploration of the oil to desecrate their land! They should follow the lead of countries like Qatar and Oman, and demand structural developments on their land.

  • @vixxy02 I agree, the oil belongs to them, but the country is so corrupt, nothing is to stop that great wealth from being captive in the hands of a very select few.

  • @keytoothed You're right, only in their case since the whole world has seen Nigerias case as a 'how not to plunder your resources', I don't think the Ghanaian people would have an attitude of placidity, where their oil money is concerned. But then again......

  • @vixxy02 I think the green movement is very bad for poor countries that have a long of oil. The rich investors that will be trading the carbon credits will be making more money from the oil than the producers and the extra pricing they add will reduce demand. It's a very bad deal for poor countries. like a form of colonialism.

  • God help ghana. i fear these useless bootlicker so called government will sell our country to foreigners and make this blessing into a curse. God will spank them all to death for their greed and hidden agenders. i pray for God to be with us and i hope this thing does not ruin the peace and happiness we enjoy in our dear nation. once again i hope these useless leaders get struck by lightening because they have done nothing!! for ghana. all that they do is divide us.

  • @oduro0111 -My dear do not FEAR U FORGOT PRAYER IS OUR FORSTRESS ND JAH WILL BLESS US!!

  • Listen to Bob Marley's song AFRICA UNITE !!!!

  • politiciancs eill enjoy y poorer poeply still suffer

  • It just seems to me that oil and gold that is extracted from African countries for the greed of the west is an all around curse for the Africans. Villages will be relocated, land and water polluted and people displaced and abused for the businessmen's advantage. Selling the earth for monetary temporary wealth that quickly depleats is a curse. Peace!

  • wow gold and oil ghana is blessed! This looks like a good development i pray it goes well the brits are training the natives i trust them more than the the yanks so at least if foreigners try to get the oil unscrupiously they know what to do. There must be stipulations when they are trading abroad hopefully most of the resources will be used WITHIN the country.

  • yea right so sudan and nigeria and angola where blessed?? they had oil. and also uganda has more oil too so how come evry1 still poor and livin in dark?

  • Comment removed

  • Forget bout UK they have oil and gas themself from oil platforms located in the North Sea/Atlantic Ocean.

I hope Ghana will spend this gift wisely and it will not become a new "Nigeria" where oil hasnt brought prosperity nor stability but huger gap between rock buttom and the upperclass and created so much instability in southern regions that some regions have small guerilla groups fighting for independence by hi-jacking and killin innocent people.

Hopefully it seems like Ghana is wiser:)

  • I hope america takes the lead. I dont trust the british.

  • Why? America is even more oil hungry than than Britain.

  • well yes because America has more people than the British.

  • Tullow. They are the same company that is involved in 'developing' Uganda's oil reserves. Like others have said, we need to keep a sharp eye on these people and also on our own governments.

  • Now comes the further exploitation of Ghana and its people. This time not for slaves or gold but for oil. I hope business leaders representing Ghana in this economic affair are smart, but most of all wise enough to make good investment and negociation decisions for the betterment of Ghana and not for individual wealth and greed.

  • hopfully we are not going to have the same problems like nigeria

  • man dont ever wish ur country that. Oil has been our problem in nigeria. The cause of all evil in Nigeria is wot? OIL.

  • or Islam

  • The white bastards will start coming ...

  • yes they will come no escape lol

  • funny i just posted comment her - obout pollution:) my comment is gone:)

  • Just pray that the new find will not turn to nwe problem. European do not take care of preservation of nature. They can say what ewer:) Look what they did in Nigeria :) so go oil go :)!!

  • Sign the contract right here _ ___ I will write this check and we can close this deal ; )

  • Ghana Must Go Bags are about the blow up in Ghana. Prepare to become Nigeria Mach 2. Ghana had so much potential...then it discovered oil and it went kaput.

  • i'll be on one of that rigs in a couple weeks. just waiting for my visa.

    cant wait :(

  • The british are coming! The british are coming! Here come the imperialists.

  • im guessing that means more white people back to ghana...this time not the gold coast we gonna call it the oil coast....if we are not smart aboout it we gonna create 2 iraq....thank God bush is outta power!!

  • Yeah, look at the leaders of African nations. Big oil companies are going to come in and take over. They will take over but only after the leaders receive their fat checks. African leaders sell their countries futures, it is not stolen. You can see it in that mans eyes. : " I's gonna gets me's some money's, I's gonna get's me some money's real quick and easy, just sign this white/asian mans contract and I have me some money ".

  • lol! for now ghana has avoided unrest i think they are wise enough to learn from nigeria's mistakes.

  • My faith in africa pride is fully within the hands of ghana, like it always been.

  • kwame blew his load on gashleys face, then they did some come swapping

  • Schools, Hospitals, Diversify Economy, Infrastructure, use that oil money well, it's a limited resource.

  • they wont

  • I like to know what african country does the US have its military in? As far as i see it china deep inside and all around the continent.

  • If anybody has heard of Africom, be aware of it because this military program was set up in Washington D.C to supposedly start "peacekeeping" missions by forming military bases all over Africa except Egypt. The underlying motive in truth is that they're there for oil and other resources.

  • Yep its yet another NWO/ILLUMINATI created entity. Its similiar to the School of the AMericas in the panama canal region. The School of the AMericas is a warfare training center funded by the U.S. government. It is attended by Latin American dictators and paramilitary groups inserted into power by the CIA and U.S military. This school arms and trains latin american militaries to protect these puppet govts who are aligned with the U.S. business and financial community. SO I'm wary of africom

  • Also, I had the former President of Botswana Festus Mogae speak in my school at Northeastern University. I asked him the question about my concerns about underlying military motives by Africom but he kind of cut me off and said that Africom was a good idea for developing and peacekeeping and I just end it there. If you see a picture of him on wikipedia, you see him shaking hands with Colin Powell. I have the feeling that he sides with these people.

  • you people are so obsessed with things like the illuminati that you ignore, real, actual corporate threats. if exxonmobil or bp want to exploit the greed and stupidity of african leaders, they can and will. they don't need some shadow organization like the nwo or illuminati.

there is no evil illuminati. there are, however, ppl and groups that are more influential than you. those people exist to get richer by any means. not to rule the world.

  • The illminati and NWO own the same evil corporations you halfwit. Masonic lodges are nothing but a covert affirmative action program where the initiates go on to poowerful positions in the CORPROATE world, govt, law, and especially the financial industry. You can stay stuck in your stupid fantasy all you want. you dont have to believe secret societies exist for them to actually exist. WHo do you think is responsible for the federal reserve banking cartel. THe ILLUMINATI. Go back to sleep

  • what a loon you are.

Do I think powerful people and groups collude, often to the detriment of the poor or average person. Most Definitely.

Do I think they're apart of some secret club with super secret handshakes living in pyramid-shaped treehouses? No.

  • yeah and the symbols on the currency are pointless right? and the illuminati symbolism isnt in corporate logos right? The AOL logo isnt the same pyramid and "allseing eye" found on the dollar is it? Or how about the logo of fidelity investments logo? Or the DODGE logo isnt the head of the GOAT OF MENDES is it? You probably dont know who the goat of mendes is so im probably talking waaaay over your head. I know theres no occult right. Your not even qualified to speak on the issue man.

  • Let's hope they don't end up like my country Nigeria. GHANA USE YOUR OIL WELL O.

  • do nigerians have tough or coarse hair?

  • china will celebrate:;;it is their wealth-how pathetic God help africa

  • africans need help, because of inferiority complex foreign companies will control the oil-maybe they should not celebrate

  • Comment removed

  • Is there any evidence of civil unrest? I read in an article on OXFAM site that already there are youths in villages that are arguing about where the money will go. Is there an increased sense of violence in country?

  • mother inlaw fails (MUST SEE)<----- WACTH VERY FUNNY

  • Poor Ghana. They're screwed. If the oil wealth doesn't split the country apart into ethnic disputes, then surely the West will come in and do what they always do with Africa. Exploit, give a little AIDS...I mean aid...and then exploit some more.

Mark my words, 20 years from now we'll all be saying. "Boy, Ghana had alot of potential." Too bad.

  • How can oil split the country if it's state owned of the coast?Sure america came in to rid Nkruham, buy Africa will be very stable in 20 years

  • Ghana's government doesn't own a very high percentage of the rights. Given time, they will either sell to foreign investors, or politicians will pilfer the revenue. If the gov't manages to steward its resources reasonably well, they will still have to deal with the destructive West which has more capital, more power, and more evil.

Mark my words. The living conditions in Ghana will be almost exactly the same in 20 years. As will HDI, poverty, literacy, real wages, etc. etc

  • I really hope your wrong.

  • how naive u are, oil companies control governments, BP and shell own ALL the other oil companies so if u refuse them ur oil is worthless

  • dont jump to conclusions. you see one video and suddenly you are an expert. its obvious you are not from there and not in the mix of things so it is doubtful you have any relevance.

  • not conclusions. educated observations. Ghana had/has huge gold caches beneath its soil. Who got rich and are getting rich from the gold mines? Certainly not the people. Companies like ANGLO-ashanti gold are in control, politicians get their bloody share, and the average Ghanaian never sees a shiny nugget.

So Ghana's history with gold and other resources, combined with other African countries' histories with oil...well, it just doesn't bode well for Ghana.

  • oh, and you're right. I'm American, but my family is from Ghana. If I wasn't educated in the United States, I'd probably be as foolishly optimistic as the average Ghanaian who doesn't know what's coming to them...or better yet, what's not coming to them.

  • I agree!

  • ghana deserves this rich reward. remember ghana dont be bullied by the west! the west has exploited you enough. keep the oil in ghana hands. dont let the west in!

  • Watch out for America GHana, they'll be after you next.

  • Oh i see..thats nice Bush can do anything. We live in peace we need not people who go about making war with everything country

  • Bush "only" declared war against two countries so come down an start reading "Daily Graphic" that one is not that expensive, I know I used to read it once. Are you sure you are not jelous because USA has the capability to declare war while Ghana's army either is placed in Darfur/Sudan or falling apart dued to increasing use of corruption within the Ghanaian military?

  • I just returned from this very village. There is a Lodge there that is owned by a British guy and his Ghanaian wife.

Miemia Bay is very remote, a fishing village that has lived here for literally thousands of years. This will be the end of them.

You can see the area in my latest video post.

    Again, this is bad.

  • Watch out for Nigerianitis when it comes to petrodollars in Afrika. Niger Delta has the oil but is obscenely underdeveloped. It seems like Ghana's oil is way offshore, and its government is seemingly a bit more open than notorious Naija. Yet Angola, and their "revolutionary" MPLA, has oil now too, but it remains a backward place where the masses benefit not. Afrikan countries should be on the forefront of alternative energy, not chasing western oil deals. The Afrikan Revolution should be green.

  • So George Bush has a month to claim that Ghana is stockpiling WMDs and funding terrorists, and then invade them.

  • not necessarily. There is a period of time, called the presidential transition, which starts from election day, to the inauguration day. Right now George Bush is in that time of period, Barack Obama

  • is the next president, hes in office on January 2009. In this period, George Bush is not allowed to start anything major; example an invasion, war, amend (change) or make laws. So George Bush can't invade Ghana either way.

  • what? The Ghana oil is mixed with that?

  • mixed with what? I don't understand what you're asking about, please be more specific.

  • Is the Ghana oil story mixed with american elections

  • Oh, umm... no, the next president was already elected long before the discovered the oil, and the date in which Barack Obama goes into office in the inauguration day. I mentioned this because "7Boon" said "So George Bush has a month to claim that Ghana is stockpiling WMDs and funding terrorists, and then invade them." but because the next president has already been elected, George Bush has limited authority.

  • hes prohibited (written in the American Constitution) from declaring a war or invading a country, or make any major changes that will affect the U.S in the time period.

  • So basically, the U.S doesn't put a new president in office, when they're in a war with another country. It's like a fresh start for the new president, except in this case (2008-2009) the economy is unstable and Barack Obama will have a load to deal with the first few months following his arrival in office.

  • Ghana might turn out to be like Iraq. President George W. Bush invaded Iraq claiming he was going to make it a democratic country, when clearly he was invading it for it's oil. My history teacher told me most wars are fought for profit. Iraq is an example of a war fought for profit, and Ghana has to watch out for this.

  • Oil will bring civil wars and tribal tensions the same way like neighboring Nigeria ...Oil without democracy means all the money will end up in the pockets of a corrupt elite

  • there is democracy there moron!

  • democracy in Ghana ???? you do not even deserve a reply and you know it ....

  • There is democracy in Ghana! Jeeze, they just had a fucking election. Where are you getting your information?

  • I agree with you... except that there is a distinct difference between privatization and democracy. One does pre-requesit the other. one can have state owned assets and still operate a democracy. in fact privatised assets only lead to corporate greed. True democracy is where the state owns the assets on behalf of the people who have a say how that asset is used.

  • Comment removed

  • I found it somewhat cynical where he says in the report, " nothing as been hidden from the public - At this point".

I can only assume therefore that its common for information to be hidden from the public?

  • You tell us. I dare you to name one country where information isn't suppressed from the public forum.

  • Malta? ... It's one the smallest country, everyone there is like one big family. I doubt the government (if they have one) can keep any information from the public.

  • Sry, MAlta's part of the British Commonwealth, and therefore ruled by the queen. And as you and i are both Canadian, we can attest to the fact that we are told we have our independance when in fact we still report to the queen as a member of her colony. However meaningless it seems, she overseas and signs off on every law. That's not transparent and i implore, nothing else is, either.

  • First of all, How did you know I was Canadian? and you were right I am Canadian. Second, your statement is not true, Queen Elizabeth is the head of the Commonwealth, but she doesn't rule the countries. Queen Elizabeth does not have as much power she would would have many years back. These countries have democratic governments not Monarchy governments. In Canada, our laws are not signed by the queen overseas, we have a representative of the queen; Governor-General

Michele Jean, to sign our laws.

  • The queen has a representative to sign off on anything mundane, but know full well that anything of any importance goes through the monarchy first. IT's in our constitution. You probably think the Canadian Mint isn't a For-Profit Corporation, and it woudn't be your fault. Transparency is a game being played on the 99.9999999% world by the ruling .000000001%

  • and you didn't answer my far most important question. To refresh your memory; it's the first line of my previous comment. (:

  • look at your profile

  • haha :D it makes sense.

  • regretable i can't as well i think your aware. But that wasnt my point. My point was to highlight the point you are trying to make. We are so used with well groomed pre-thought out speeches written by spin doctors that to hear an 'of the cuff' comment like what was said in that interview was pretty damn clear. To anyone who doubts we are ever told the whole truth.

  • If Ghana doesn't willfully privatize their oil, the West will label Ghana a terrorist state... invade it... commandeer its oil. Then Ghana's oil profits will be siphoned off to foreign investors and we'll sit back wondering why can't these African countries get it together.

  • Good point.

  • One of the best comments I've ever seen on YouTube!

  • Exactly what I had in mind! In fact I was going to write this down myself if you hadn't done it.

  • I said the same thing a couple of years ago when they found the oil...it sad, I just returned from this very village. There is a Lodge there that is owned by a British guy and his Ghanaian wife.

Miemia Bay is very remote, a fishing village that has lived here for literally thousands of years. This will be the end of them.

You can see the area in my latest video post.

    Again, this is bad.

  • Genuine question here: I don't underdtand why an independant nation should have to privitaze it's assets just in order not to be branded a terrorist state by the west?

  • Oil centered in a fishing village... sounds like a disaster.
