How sweet.....takes 'em a while but they get it down! They do have smaller worms too, my babies eat those while the adults eat the bigguns. One of my babies is up to eating two of the smaller ones at a time (fed every day or every two days) and he's outgrowing his other two siblings, who only eat one at a time and sometimes not even that much. They're 14 months old now.

Like if you have a three toed box turtle then they can swim but can stay in a fish tank because it will drown but if its a turtle made for watr then it can swim. this turtle here can swim but he doesnt live in water, he has a water bowl in his cage.

yeah any turtle has salmonella but its not that dangerous just keep in mind that everytime you touch the turtle or the water in it wash your hands with soap...or just use gloves...

His diet is varied: fish flakes some days, fruit (strawberries are a treat), lettuce, cubed cooked chicken, and sometimes, soaked dry dog food. It has been more than three years since I took the above video and I'm planning to post a new one soon.

Pond turtles, like red-eared sliders, need water to eat. Box turtles live in the wild on prairies here in Texas. They don't need to be underwater to eat. They like worms, grubs, leafy vegetables, berries: the kinds of things they find in the wild. Our turtles eat worms, fish flakes, strawberries, spinach, & lettuce. They go for a dip in their water dish after they eat.

Yes it is legal to have them as pets in PA, but you wont be able to legally buy one unless it is over 4''.. To avoid getting salmonella (which they produce naturally in their gut) You just have to wash your hands thoroughly after handling them
