Not 'Unknown Life-form, not tubifex worms, but the prehistoric 'moss animals' or bryozoans. They were also found in Denver CO sewer system back in 2007. They are also asexuaI (he/shes?). Mainly found out in the ocean though...
@A15KaldrinJAB - There are many kinds of bryozoans. They are only "related" to coral NOT coral themselves. These are freshwater bryozoans which can grow to the size of watermelons and WILL clog a water system. These are common to sewage/water system people. I don't know why these NC fellows don't recognize them. They are not tubifex worms...
i know they are not coral, by corralized i mean the excretion of calcium carbonate to form a sort off err, corally thing. I guess they are not tubifex worms, they probably are bryozoans, they just dont appear to look very err bryozoan like
@A15KaldrinJAB - Thomas Kwak, a biology prof @ NCSU Cooperative Fish & Wildlife Research Unit says the so-called monster is actually a cluster of invertebrates called bryozoan, which are commonly found in both the sea and fresh water environments. It's unclear how they got into the sewer system, but Kwak said it isn't surprising. The bryozoan feed off bacteria and thrive in cold, dark environments. Those in the video are smaller than a fist, but could grow as large as a watermelon, he said.
2. Notice from 0:37 to 0:49 as the camera travels down the the pipe how small these clusters are in reference to the 6 inch pipe--they don't even cover half the pipe wall. So these clusters are what.....1/12, 3 inches in size maybe???
3. These things are TINY--the camera closeups only make them APPEAR huge.
This is NO alien life form people...just a TIINY cluster of worms...
Actually, the sewer monster is made up of thousands of tiny organisms called bryozoans, or moss animacules, said N.C. State University biologist Thomas Kwak. Invertebrates, they bunch together in colonies and feed with tiny tentacles.
staff biologists have confirmed that the creature is actually a colony of tubifex worms. The colonies attach themselves to roots that gradually work themselves into weak points in the pipes. They seem to respond to the light from the camera, Buchan said. That light is pretty hot.The worms naturally occur in sewage and pond sediment and are actually sold both live and dried as fish food in pet stores.
motherfucker ! . . thats where my god damn arse grapes got to ! . . I have been looking for my haemerroids for weeks now ! . . little bastard can get back in my ass . . MOTHERFUCKER !!!
Ed Buchan, environmental coordinator at the Raleigh Public Utilities Department, said staff biologists have confirmed that the creature is actually a colony of tubifex worms. The colonies attach themselves to roots that gradually work themselves into weak points in the pipes. They seem to respond to the light from the camera, Buchan said. That light is pretty hot.
You may be confused because T. tubifex includes several species: distinguishing them is difficult because the external characteristics of the worm vary with changes in local environmental salinity.
Do your homework. These look NOTHING like Tubifex Worms. Bryozoan sounds more likely, but this thing still doesn't have the spore like exterior bryozoan's have. Anyone notice the spine like appendage that seems to recoil into the wall near the end of this segment?
Don't tell me this kind of bullshit. That is not a colony or what. That shit is breathing. Are you realizing that? Show me your diploma and don't start vomiting over me bullshit taken by wikipedia
It is not bullshit, he is correct about it being tubifex worms. As for what you think is breathing, well it is not actually breathing. That was a reaction from the heat from the flashlights (since they do get bloody warm). Someone doesn't need a 'diploma' to be ale to do some researched and find the answers and not simply make a guess (which I am assuming you are doing).
the video was taken in April during an inspection of a privately maintained sewer line in Cameron Village.

It's nothing more than a colony of tubifex worms that are pretty much encased in a cyst, created by the worms themselves. They're living in a environment with no food, and survive by encysting themselves, and the hemoglobin on one end of their bodies. There's nothing to worry about.
thank you smart person i just watched 2 videos and was freaking out that is the most disgusting thing uggh even saying what you have written about it makes me cringe lol.
