Wondering if u or anyone else picked up on the comment that Lapidus(lol @ name) made to Michael while telling him that the plane crash was fake (27th minute).
He says: "blablabla...you know those NUTS, who think the moon landing was faked, it's like that, exept this is for real"
This is the second time I catch lost incorporating random, pro american, out of context remarks. Fake or no fake, but why shove your believes down audiences throat in such a sneaky manner.
Okay, I thought I saw that coming after digesting for a moment what I just saw, now it turns out I was right. That Michael has been in fact sent home and then recruited to work on the boat. From the previous episodes it seemed like Michael ended up on the freighter when they were released on that small boat with Walt.
This flashforward of Michael confused me for some time, I thought it was actually a flashback. Then at some point it became clear its a flashforward. The interesting thing that puzzles me, he's not one of the Oceanic Six as we've figured out and when he comes to his mom she mentiones that he doesn't want her to call him with the real name, like no one supposed to know that he's alive and well and not among "the rest" of the survivors, those under the secret that we've yet to uncover.
I like how you show how Jack and Micheal are both unhappy off the island. Also i would say that Hurley is unhappy also due to he is in a mental hospital and in an unstable condition. Sun also seems unhappy without Jin. Also Sihed seems quite displeased with his life post leaving the island.
Seeming that they can't kill themselves it must mean that the island needs them to do something before they can be happy or before they can die.
Yeah...it seems like they were "lost" before and after life on the island. Almost like the island is the only time they had some true moments of happiness. Very interesting indeed!

he left all those men and kate on the dock. he almost got jin killed and he didn't even know where he was going. Look what he did to sawyer, I mean , you can say, he was just distraught, and for redemption he his gonna kill a boat load of ppl and he doesn't even know if any of it is true...I felt sorry about his wife taking his kid.
The beauty of the writers of that show, is that they still make him seem so down and out, that I still believe the guy's heart is in the right place. Of course, none of beloved characters are innocent by any means, are they?
oh i felt sorry for him in the beginning, but after he killed libby, i wanted him to be eaten alive by fire ants. if he makes it back to the island i hope Hugo runs him over in that VW bus

What if "in the future" Walt has the same thing Desmund has, but doesn't go to far into the past so he has a constant or whatever. Because Walt seemed to know things that he shouldn't have known. There are pretty good writeups of all the Lost episodes on Wikipedia at the moment, but I notice they're marked as being candidates for deletion due to not being "notable" enough - so it would be worth taking a copy before they get wiped.
The captain said that ben orchestrated the fave recovery of the plane while from Micheals side they claim it was widmore who set up everything..thus the conflict..I hope i help..
I'm sure it will turn out that Widmore and Ben have some kind of strong connection, imppossible to know at the moment which one of them faked the plane at the bottom of the sea.
I'm always interested to know how much of this ongoing story was planned from the beginning, Widmore and Ben didn't appear until the end of season 2
Good point. I think a lot of it was definitely planned from the beginning, but i have a feeling that the writers have taken liberties on some things, depending on the actor's contracts and stuff like that.

Ben and Widmore are pointing fingers at each other over who staged the crash. I think maybe it wasn't a fake at all, but an actual copy that resulted from the electromagnetic anomaly from Desmond's hatch mishap. (Like the rabbit from the Orchid video.)
Ben claimed he didn't kill innocent people. I'm not sure I believe him, but if this is true, does that mean that Charlotte is one of the bad guys, since he tried to kill her? Or is he just lying to gain Michael's allegience?
in separate interviews at the beginning of the season, jorge garcia and "ben" said there will be a big revelation at the end of episode 8. I kept waiting :(
I kind of heard that too. To me, the fact that carl and Rouseu got shot tells me that its war time. Not a revelation, in anyway, but I think this is the what will change the direction of the rest of the season.
ben is acting like his "other" ppl don't want him... Its all in his web, ben's at check as usual, and locke is now moving the first pawn...
Really the only thing that upset ben was locke and jacob... and carl touching his daughter, lol, oh, and juliets liason with harper's husband, sorry this was going somewhere, and then didn't...

Great episode. This whole season has really been some of the best TV I've ever seen.
Sayid really surprised me when he sold Michael out. I can understand why he distrusts him, but the characters know even less than we do, so there's no reason to trust the boat people either. It seemed such an impulsive, terrible decision.
The ending made me gasp audibly. It was sort of devastating.
I felt the same way about the ending. I was watching this, scratching my head about Sayid selling out Michael, and then TWIP TWIP TWIP, Carl and Rouseuu dead! I mean, she was the french woman from the very beginning of the series!
It really was a great, great episode of tv though!

Hey Gary, You're right -- great episode. I'm not making any more speculations, though, because I'm so terrible at it! Michael was the spy! But I think that there's a twist approaching in confronting the captain. I question his loyalties, since we haven't seen much of him yet.
Who's doing the shooting? Maybe the soldiers from the boat? Remember, the helicoptor was running an errand? I think it was to send the hit team in.

Excellent episode this week...lots of information uncovered! Not sure of what is true, but still very interesting! Micheal...little disappointed in his actions toward Walt...WTH was he thinking?!?!? Island not letting him off himself...weird but leaves the question of WHY? Okay, that's it for now but "I WILL BE BACK" (Terminator style)! LOL!!

I thought it was a great episode too. It's getting challenging with all this info uncovered, and now we have to decipher what's real and what's a lie! Such great stuff though! Makes the mind spin! :)
I just can't get how Tom could be there, and back to the island so soon, We've seen a lot of Tom in season 3, and when we didn't see him we see Naomi on the island, so that means Michael is alredy on the boat... so... I don't know...xD I don't think the french woman is dead, but I think Ben was the one who manipulated the situation, we know that he had been in contact with the others so I think the shooting was staged by him.
But Ben and the others, were on and off the island recruiting people. The airport scene where Jack has a drink with anna lucia, there is an other there.
As soon as Carl went all Star Wars and said, "I have a bad feeling about this" I knew he was a goner. We know the others are still out there in the jungle and they are the only ones who could have done it.
"408" throws the Oceanic 6 rule right out the window. Anyone and everyone could have returned, but the public just doesn't know about it. Now we have no idea who returns.
I LOVED seeing Tom again, never knew he was gay. We also got to see Libby again, but, whadaya know, no Ana Lucia!
I love Libby too! I was glad she showed up. And yeah, it was great that Tom had so much to do in this episode. It goes to show that when a character dies on this show, it means nothing.
I totally forgot about the "I've got a bad feeling about this" line until just now. I loved that! They do a ton of SW references in this show. Major daddy issues in that saga too! LOL

Ben and Widmore are pointing fingers at each other over who staged the crash. I think maybe it wasn't a fake at all, but an actual copy that resulted from the electromagnetic anomaly from Desmond's hatch mishap. (Like the rabbit from the Orchid video.)
Ben claimed he didn't kill innocent people. I'm not sure I believe him, but if this is true, does that mean that Charlotte is one of the bad guys, since he tried to kill her? Or is he just lying to gain Michael's allegience?

in separate interviews at the beginning of the season, jorge garcia and "ben" said there will be a big revelation at the end of episode 8. I kept waiting :(

I kind of heard that too. To me, the fact that carl and Rouseu got shot tells me that its war time. Not a revelation, in anyway, but I think this is the what will change the direction of the rest of the season.

Really the only thing that upset ben was locke and jacob... and carl touching his daughter, lol, oh, and juliets liason with harper's husband, sorry this was going somewhere, and then didn't...

I agree. But keep in mind, on that show, a character may be dead, but that doesn't mean they can't still be around! Look at Tom this episode!

I'm a new subscriber and I love these LOST reviews. Definitely keep 'em coming over the hiatus.
Great episode. This whole season has really been some of the best TV I've ever seen.
Sayid really surprised me when he sold Michael out. I can understand why he distrusts him, but the characters know even less than we do, so there's no reason to trust the boat people either. It seemed such an impulsive, terrible decision.
The ending made me gasp audibly. It was sort of devastating.

I felt the same way about the ending. I was watching this, scratching my head about Sayid selling out Michael, and then TWIP TWIP TWIP, Carl and Rouseuu dead! I mean, she was the french woman from the very beginning of the series!
It really was a great, great episode of tv though!

Hey Gary, You're right -- great episode. I'm not making any more speculations, though, because I'm so terrible at it! Michael was the spy! But I think that there's a twist approaching in confronting the captain. I question his loyalties, since we haven't seen much of him yet.
Who's doing the shooting? Maybe the soldiers from the boat? Remember, the helicoptor was running an errand? I think it was to send the hit team in.
Oops. I speculated.

Excellent episode this week...lots of information uncovered! Not sure of what is true, but still very interesting! Micheal...little disappointed in his actions toward Walt...WTH was he thinking?!?!? Island not letting him off himself...weird but leaves the question of WHY? Okay, that's it for now but "I WILL BE BACK" (Terminator style)! LOL!!

I thought it was a great episode too. It's getting challenging with all this info uncovered, and now we have to decipher what's real and what's a lie! Such great stuff though! Makes the mind spin! :)

I just can't get how Tom could be there, and back to the island so soon, We've seen a lot of Tom in season 3, and when we didn't see him we see Naomi on the island, so that means Michael is alredy on the boat... so... I don't know...xD I don't think the french woman is dead, but I think Ben was the one who manipulated the situation, we know that he had been in contact with the others so I think the shooting was staged by him.

As soon as Carl went all Star Wars and said, "I have a bad feeling about this" I knew he was a goner. We know the others are still out there in the jungle and they are the only ones who could have done it.
"408" throws the Oceanic 6 rule right out the window. Anyone and everyone could have returned, but the public just doesn't know about it. Now we have no idea who returns.
I LOVED seeing Tom again, never knew he was gay. We also got to see Libby again, but, whadaya know, no Ana Lucia!

I love Libby too! I was glad she showed up. And yeah, it was great that Tom had so much to do in this episode. It goes to show that when a character dies on this show, it means nothing.
I totally forgot about the "I've got a bad feeling about this" line until just now. I loved that! They do a ton of SW references in this show. Major daddy issues in that saga too! LOL
