great rng video's, if you ever make a new one for dppt you should use the coin flip method to check the seed, it makes it look soo much easier, especially for people that dont have ar, and anyways imo its just as fast, if not faster :) (well for the iv part that is)

@azulvenatus The finding adjacent results is there for when you attempt the seed and inevitably miss. That will allow you to see how far off you were. I don't know what you mean "press my game". You hit continue ASAP if you follow the method in this video.
So, after I do the "Find adjacent results", set my time 1 minute before the target time, start my game and furiously press a, continue, and get my egg right away? One more question, does the roaming Buneary in Platinum affect the frame?
@azulvenatus Yep to the first part. Buneary does not affect the frame, but if you let it run around too much, chances are another NPC will screw you up.
Alright, setting it 1 minute before the target time, and then hitting the game, and a mash up to continue, collect egg quickly will magically get me to the target delay? Sorry, for asking way too many questions! Haha, it's just that I'm so close to finishing my 1st Egg RNG. xD
@PokemonAndDBZ Adjacent results display what you would get if you barely missed frame, delay, time, or any other factor. As far as advancing the frame, view a page in the journal that has a caught or defeated Pokemon on it. If you don't have one, add one by doing the corresponding action.
I didn't RNG for my egg's ability and nature. I just slapped an everstone on one of my parents and SR'd for the right nature and ability. Does this make a difference?

Question: I did the calibration step,I found my target time, I received the desired egg, I found my save frame,but i get stuck at the generate adjacent results thing. What do you put into the boxes? When i try to continue my frame is way off. What did i do wrong? I flipped the pages right.Please help :(

1.Calibration
2.Found a spread that i wanted.
3.Caught a pokemon and did the poketch taps and the coin flips
4.Hatched my egg and everything was right.
5.Figured out my save frame which was 6.
6.changed my date and time to that of my desired spread- 1 minute.
9.Reached the journal and flipped four times. My target frame was 14, minus my save frame, 6, divided by two, which is 4. Then i tap a furiously again and no luck. My delay wasnt close to the desired spread.
@shinymamoswine Resave until you get an odd frame. I suppose you could try to let the NPC's advance your frame by one, but that's wildly inconsistent and difficult to do.
I also want to say to all those who doesn't understand, get confused or is a beginner; do it again, from the beginning. And then again. And again. And again. Because to learn new things takes time and I haven't found a guide that makes RNGing for IVs easy yet, if I ever success, I'll make one! ;>
I gotta say RNGing for IVs was harder than I thought. It took me three different guides to get it through and I still don't have succeeded. Simply, the Pokémon that hatch doesn't have the IVs I want. So I'm asking; do I have to have the exact second and the exact delay when I'm pressing "A" at continue? That's just way too hard...I don't really understand the use of an another clock either.
I have a question. You mention if your result is not on the 4th generation time finder "you did something wrong". Like what exactly? My frame is 15, my target frame is 23, my delay is 610. I set the adjacent results for 11 seconds (my average time), frame at 23, and min/max delay at 600/620. When I set my time and do the whole soft reset, plus doing my journal flips and find the IVs, my result is not mentioned in the list for adjacent results. Any idea why? I hope I didn't confuse you. Thanks!
I have to ask, How many people actually got this? If they did, I beg them to make a video and try to make it as clear as possible, sound as clear as possible and showing step by step (without using Action Replay as well).
It seems as if nobody actually gets this because there is only one video (this one) on youtube that shows how to breed perfect Ivs.
Is there any way to hit the right frame every time, or do you just have to do a lot of calibration to find the frame you hit the most?
Also, I've tried to do a bit of frame calibration, but it takes so long! (I'm using 96 rare candies to find my IVs.) How many rare candies should you use to find your IVs during frame calibration?
@Azkea To your first question, the frame jumps around almost every time you save, so you have to check which one you're "saved" on. For this reason, a lot of people elect to do HGSS breeding, which is a lot more consistent with the starting frame.
To your second question, just enough to be able to determine what frame/seed you did hit.
@benerwel Your question is a little vague. You don't have to save after you collect the egg, so you can recollect the same egg to check the frame. However, always save in front of the daycare man and mash A to prevent those NPC's from screwing you over.
Hey.. does that Pokemon (the rabbit one that is within the border of the day care) count as an NPC? Whenever I'm trying to find my saved-on frame, it moves one step before I can't talk to the daycare guy. And even though it only moves one every time, it's a different frame. And the IV spreads of the bred Pokemon are always like, the first 3 are on frame 2, and the last 3 are on frame 5 ._. and it's ALWAYS like that. Any clues?
i did everything right but im stuck at the changing time/date.

and my reset time 2:00:00
now if i sync my clock with another, i have to wait till the next minute starts (2:00:00) and reset at that point; which i can't cus the DS only turns off. I gotta turn on the ds again to hit my TARGET TIME (2:00:14) but that's impossible cus turning off/on the ds takes up too much time. can you please help? or tell me what im doing wrong?
@MrPetemike If the cowgirls move, you screw the frame up by raising it. That's why you have to talk to the man before they move, because the longer you idle in the game, the more your frames increase.
I'm a bit of a casual fan, but I'd really like some decent monsters. I kind of just want to jump in there and do this, but is it nessecary to worry about the parents IVs, or would I just be able to start with whatever and get on with it?
If it's the former, would I be better off asking around for a decent Ditto?

@ryankam2 The only thing I get out of this is that you're having trouble verifying frame. What you do is load the game, collect the egg ASAP, check your seed, and check where your egg IV's are in the list generated, which will tell you your frame. I can't help anymore because I have no information on your situation.
Wow. After all this time you still have this video up and respond to people's problems. I am glad you have kept this video active though. I had taken a break from pokemon for several months and recently coming back into it I wanted to pick up where I left off. That meant relearning the RNG process. I would like to say your video is the easiest to follow and very helpful. (Although, I find it easiest to use the Shiny Finder then continue with the above video. For finding shinies with Good IV's)
@MrPetemike Doesn't work like that. You messed up somehow. There is no random, and there are no rng glitches as far as we are aware of. If you hit your frame and seed, you will get the same result always.
should you have a parent with flawless iv's for this to work correctly? or at least the iv's you need? Can you get flawless iv's without a parent with the proper iv's? and also what is the seed found in the beginning egg ivs part 1? the seed found by using the time finder.
@eyelewz For your last question, give me a specific time in the video. You don't need a flawless parent. If you're really good with planning, you can pick a spread that supplies 31's and then takes the good IV"s from your parents, giving you a flawless product. You WILL need at least one (most often three) good IV's.

No matter how many times I flip my journal, it always says that my frame is constantly at 4. That might be OK, but I can still never find the right IV's for my egg. I'm looking for 30+ / B (or 29+) / 30+ / i don't care / 29 + / A (or 26+) IV's. Can someone give me a time for that for frame 4 and 4 alone or tell me why my frame never moves from 4, no matter how many times I flip the journal?

I'm kinda confused about one thing in the RNG article. It says something about counting each flip to a journal page that mentions something about a caught/defeated pokemon as an advancement of 2 in the frame, but does that mean a flip toward or away from that page? Perhaps both count?
I ask because the first page I flip to does not mention anything about caught/defeated pokemon and I don't know how to count it, if at all.

@bearsfan092drums ok thank for this reply so i dont understand about page flip ,for page flip you need to substract each frame (target frame -monster frame -starting frame) divided by 2 ,so how do that if the final frame before you divide by 2 is a odd number ,for example 15?
@astrocomete I'm guilty of not mentioning this. You can take 128 steps in a quiet zone (no moving NPC's nearby, no wild pokemon areas like grass or caves) and the RNG will advance its frame equal to the amount of pokemon in your party. Carry 1, 3, or 5 Pokemon to advance by that many frames. Should make sense from there.

So umm, I got EVERYTHING down. But when I got my egg. According to the website. I do the coin flip to verify if it's the right egg. Apparently it was. But when I hatched it. And checked it's IV's. It's not. What did I do wrong?
@darkaznblo0d Frame probably advanced. Did you take the egg ASAP and then do coin flips? If you didn't do that in that order, the NPC's will have screwed you over. Check what frame your IV's correspond to.
@bearsfan092drums I did the flips with the pages. Then mashed A to get my egg. The only NPC I always see moving is that stupid bunery. After I get my egg, then I do the coin flips.
Hi, mmm i have a question does your frame changes everytime you breed a new egg?, my frame always appears as 4 so that means that 4 will always appear everytime i get another egg?
My frame has changed three times in a row after hard resetting. My egg always has the same nature and special ability though, so i got that part to work.

Okay, i rng'd for an adamant ralts. i followed some instructions but got stuck on how many times i flip the journal
my target frame is 2, but my current frame is 18? (i tested this out about 3-4 time)
then i click on time finder and got a long list of perfect iv's, i right-clicked on the one that said "31/31/A/4/A/A" and selected "Generate Adjacent Results".
whenever i soft reset, i know that i have to reset the time, but after i get into the game, i don't know what to do to the journal, help
@bearsfan092drums perhaps i wasn't clear. When using the IV checker on the AR, it reports the IVs in the order I listed, not the order used in the Reporter.
Yes it does. This threw me off a little bit doing my Abuse, but I finally got it. I was saved on a frame of 3, trying to get to a frame of 9, and the little faggot kept bumping me up to a frame of 13. I finally adjusted my journal flips enough that I could take his steps into account, too.
For me, at least, each of his steps advanced the frame by 2. I didn't seem to have any issues with this when I abused for a flawless Gible, but I did when I was hatching Togepi.
So you basically have to be able to check IV's? because I dont have an action replay. :( For instance the part where typed in the Togepi's IV's after you saved in the begging of the vid to see what frame you are on. I wouldnt be able to check by stats because any hatched pokemon is only lv1. Is there way around this? BTW Im a hardcore bears fan too and I play the drums, HELLO! lol
Ok but what Im saying is, instead of you catching the ponyta to see what frame you are on. Couldn't you fly to resort are and catch a lv 50 magikarp and check its IV's on the metlakids calc because its level 50?

I don't understand the why i'm not reaching the step you are at around 3:20. I believe its the find what frame you're saved on. I've caught the wild pokemon over level 50 and put it in the "find initial seed by stats" tab and clicked find, then ok. It goes back to the main screen and i clear the nature and then click generate. The difference is, while you are getting IV results, I am not. Is there a special tab that i'm supposed to click or i am just doing it wrong? I have version 7.30 btw.

When you check the egg near the end of the video for its IV's, how do you get the AR code to work? Shouldn't it have been deactivated when you soft reset the game?

Argh this is frustrating my current frame is 3 and my target frame is 7. 7 - 3 = 4 , 4 /2 = 2 journal pages flipped only counting pages with defeated / captured pokemon. Yet I'm always under my target frame by 1. I dont understand where im going wrong...
@ArSYniiC If you did calibration properly and reset at :00 of a clock that is perfectly synchronized to your DS, I can see very little reason why your seconds should go over 20. You probably calibrated in some incorrect way or you have a flashcart that takes forever to load.

Whenever I'm trying to find my saved-on frame, it moves one step before I can't talk to the daycare guy. And even though it only moves one every time, it's a different frame. And the IV spreads of the bred Pokemon are always like, the first 3 are on frame 2, and the last 3 are on frame 5 ._. and it's ALWAYS like that. Any clues?

i did everything right but im stuck at the changing time/date.
my target time is 2:00:14
this makes my synchronize time 1:59:00
and my reset time 2:00:00
now if i sync my clock with another, i have to wait till the next minute starts (2:00:00) and reset at that point; which i can't cus the DS only turns off. I gotta turn on the ds again to hit my TARGET TIME (2:00:14) but that's impossible cus turning off/on the ds takes up too much time. can you please help? or tell me what im doing wrong?

@MrPetemike If the cowgirls move, you screw the frame up by raising it. That's why you have to talk to the man before they move, because the longer you idle in the game, the more your frames increase.

@ryankam2 The only thing I get out of this is that you're having trouble verifying frame. What you do is load the game, collect the egg ASAP, check your seed, and check where your egg IV's are in the list generated, which will tell you your frame. I can't help anymore because I have no information on your situation.

Wow. After all this time you still have this video up and respond to people's problems. I am glad you have kept this video active though. I had taken a break from pokemon for several months and recently coming back into it I wanted to pick up where I left off. That meant relearning the RNG process. I would like to say your video is the easiest to follow and very helpful. (Although, I find it easiest to use the Shiny Finder then continue with the above video. For finding shinies with Good IV's)

@MrPetemike Doesn't work like that. You messed up somehow. There is no random, and there are no rng glitches as far as we are aware of. If you hit your frame and seed, you will get the same result always.

@eyelewz For your last question, give me a specific time in the video. You don't need a flawless parent. If you're really good with planning, you can pick a spread that supplies 31's and then takes the good IV"s from your parents, giving you a flawless product. You WILL need at least one (most often three) good IV's.

No matter how many times I flip my journal, it always says that my frame is constantly at 4. That might be OK, but I can still never find the right IV's for my egg. I'm looking for 30+ / B (or 29+) / 30+ / i don't care / 29 + / A (or 26+) IV's. Can someone give me a time for that for frame 4 and 4 alone or tell me why my frame never moves from 4, no matter how many times I flip the journal?

I'm kinda confused about one thing in the RNG article. It says something about counting each flip to a journal page that mentions something about a caught/defeated pokemon as an advancement of 2 in the frame, but does that mean a flip toward or away from that page? Perhaps both count?
I ask because the first page I flip to does not mention anything about caught/defeated pokemon and I don't know how to count it, if at all.

@astrocomete I'm guilty of not mentioning this. You can take 128 steps in a quiet zone (no moving NPC's nearby, no wild pokemon areas like grass or caves) and the RNG will advance its frame equal to the amount of pokemon in your party. Carry 1, 3, or 5 Pokemon to advance by that many frames. Should make sense from there.

So umm, I got EVERYTHING down. But when I got my egg. According to the website. I do the coin flip to verify if it's the right egg. Apparently it was. But when I hatched it. And checked it's IV's. It's not. What did I do wrong?

@darkaznblo0d Frame probably advanced. Did you take the egg ASAP and then do coin flips? If you didn't do that in that order, the NPC's will have screwed you over. Check what frame your IV's correspond to.

@bearsfan092drums I did the flips with the pages. Then mashed A to get my egg. The only NPC I always see moving is that stupid bunery. After I get my egg, then I do the coin flips.

Man I'm kind of confused. You are like skipping steps and I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. Why is your frame rate set to 20? Is it because you wanted 20? What is the delay time exactly? I tried this SEVERAL times to no avail. One site says "Caught Pokemon" counts for 2 while you say counts for 1 and... X___x

1. A frame of 20 is an arbitrary number. I could have picked 69 if I wanted to.
2. If you don't know what delay is, I can't help you.
3. It's frame advancement by 2 for every caught. I never said 1.

Is there a way to do this in HG/SS? Because I don't have happiness checker and coin flip app neither the diary. What can I do to replace them. I heard something about Elm calls but I'm kinda confused. Also I don't understand the inside of the process so I don't know if checking IVs with an IV battle messes up the process, because you have to save before it. Thanks for your help in advance.

Okay, i rng'd for an adamant ralts. i followed some instructions but got stuck on how many times i flip the journal
my target frame is 2, but my current frame is 18? (i tested this out about 3-4 time)
then i click on time finder and got a long list of perfect iv's, i right-clicked on the one that said "31/31/A/4/A/A" and selected "Generate Adjacent Results".
whenever i soft reset, i know that i have to reset the time, but after i get into the game, i don't know what to do to the journal, help

Yes it does. This threw me off a little bit doing my Abuse, but I finally got it. I was saved on a frame of 3, trying to get to a frame of 9, and the little faggot kept bumping me up to a frame of 13. I finally adjusted my journal flips enough that I could take his steps into account, too.
For me, at least, each of his steps advanced the frame by 2. I didn't seem to have any issues with this when I abused for a flawless Gible, but I did when I was hatching Togepi.

So you basically have to be able to check IV's? because I dont have an action replay. :( For instance the part where typed in the Togepi's IV's after you saved in the begging of the vid to see what frame you are on. I wouldnt be able to check by stats because any hatched pokemon is only lv1. Is there way around this? BTW Im a hardcore bears fan too and I play the drums, HELLO! lol

I don't understand the why i'm not reaching the step you are at around 3:20. I believe its the find what frame you're saved on. I've caught the wild pokemon over level 50 and put it in the "find initial seed by stats" tab and clicked find, then ok. It goes back to the main screen and i clear the nature and then click generate. The difference is, while you are getting IV results, I am not. Is there a special tab that i'm supposed to click or i am just doing it wrong? I have version 7.30 btw.

Argh this is frustrating my current frame is 3 and my target frame is 7. 7 - 3 = 4 , 4 /2 = 2 journal pages flipped only counting pages with defeated / captured pokemon. Yet I'm always under my target frame by 1. I dont understand where im going wrong...

@ArSYniiC If you did calibration properly and reset at :00 of a clock that is perfectly synchronized to your DS, I can see very little reason why your seconds should go over 20. You probably calibrated in some incorrect way or you have a flashcart that takes forever to load.
