  • Very nice job!

  • ok!

  • Not bad at all. The only thing is that the video itself could use a bit more of volume it´s really quiet. Other that that thumbs up. :)

  • @Regina316 Thanks! Yeah, this video was the first one I took with a new camera, was experimenting with its stock editing software which is kinda crappy. Still trying out new setups for my li'l videos.

  • hey man great job.this has a different swing to it,and like you say it is different,at least we ALL can understand the words you are say and you are not using gibberish mumbling!!!! great playing! ty from Newfoundland Canada!! 100-100 just do a few more different ones and list it on UTube also great!!!

  • nice one built one very much yours recently check it out and don,t worry about the words there are a thousand different ways of singing this song

  • Nice!

  • Learn the bloody words man....

  • @altocool88 This song has dozens of different ways to sing it, like most folk songs that go way back. Would you prefer the Metallica version?

  • @altocool88 What words are you talking about? The song "Whiskey in the Jar" dates from at least 1720 or possibly from the hanging of Patrick Fleming" in 1650. The historic song's exact origins and words are unknown but those words used in this video are pretty close to what folk singers have been using since at least 100 years before Tin Lizzy or Metallica ever hit a stage.

  • @Mandolin1944 sheamus ennis has an interesting take on one of those Lomax jobbies.

  • Brilliant

  • haha, I think I'm in love! :D

  • What time of strings are you using? I have been thinking about getting a banjo ukulele and string choice seems key.

  • haha love this song , nice one ,like the uke

  • I fav. THARS WHISKEY IN THE JAR

  • This is a really well-done rendition. Love this song.

I have looked at this banjo-uke on Waverly's website many times.

Out of curiousity, can you tell me what holds the dowel-stick in place at the rear end of the drum?

The website pictures don't show, and I want to build one.

Does the dowel-stick pass through a hole at the rear end, or just butt against the drum inside, with a screw passing through the drum into the dowel-stick?

Oh yes, love the Navajo-southwestern styled jacket :-)

  • I enjoyed that thanks... whats the strum pattern?

  • @biglavalamp the basic pattern is: pluck the 4 string, up down up. I throw in some hammer-ons and stuff but that's pretty much what's going on - thanks for enjoying it!

  • beautifully done!
