I used to live up there, hiking much of the old TFRR roadbed as part of a preservation push a few years ago. About the time I left, there was talk that Georgia Power was considering rebuilding a portion of the old railroad which ran under the overlook, and powering it using overhead catenary. The idea was to have a short tourist train running along the gorge side for viewing.
Great video!! You should have your own travel show. I love Tallulah falls gorge. I used to stop there on the way to the smoky mountains. That was before that park was built. I tried several times to find a route down into the gorge. Now that I know about that park and the steps I will definately put it back on my list. Again great video. The words you chose , your enthusiasm, everything. Good job .Please post more vids
I went last year, yet I was afraid of hights, so I was terrified and I wanted to lay down and die after I finished it all! lol, I didn't really like it that much, but the video was excellent!
Where you were talking about "permits" is where you access a trail to the Sliding rock, about a quarter mile downstream, certainly the best part of Tallulah Gorge State Park, if not the best attraction in the entire state of Georgia. When they open up the dam the area at the bottom is where you begin white water rafting. Good tour nevertheless, thanks for explaining this state park, now go back there right now and get a permit and slide down the sliding rock, you won't regret it!
i really used to live like 10min away from there went to Tallulah Falls School miss it a lot but im from Tucson and my family moved up there for 2years im back now and wish i never left TFS!
Thanks for the presentation. I visited the place last Sat. I did not find the trail as strenuous as it is mentioned everywhere - the trick is to walk up the stairs very very slow. The water flowing from the dam is a treat for the eyes (crossing the highway underneath the bridge). Thanks for a near-perfect video. Hope you will be putting up more of them.
That's great! I think some people will find it harder than others, particularly if they're not used to climbing stairs or hiking. It looks like you're in great condition, keep it up!
I live about 15-20 minutes away from Tallulah Gorge in Toccoa, GA....When you go to the bottom of the falls the reason you need a permit is that if you cross the river over those stones you see at 6:12 of the video there is a hiking trail that follows the river through the wilderness...the permits are free they just make you get them because they only allow a small number of people on the trail at one time
I was there this afternoon.

That was a sweet little tour! Thanks so much, you did a great job.
Friends and I hiked down to the swinging bridge and back about 3 years ago. I'm still sore! Never climbed so many steps in my life. It was grueling.
