  • @DenverYellowStone Wow your a genius!!!

  • @andig4 Hahaha I know I know

  • @DenverYellowStone lol :)

  • and after 1996 I will watch it again today. I was 6 years old when I watched it and its stuck on my mind.

  • I want to see this movie so badly

  • As much as I liked this movie it had nothing to do with the book, I mean it's like it was edited by a monkey...

  • Usually, normal lions are not so sadistic...are they ?!?

  • omg is that tom wilkinson? man! i saw this film years ago!!!! and never even knew him back then...!! loved this film in theater though. remember picking up the ppbk book too..."only the impossible parts are true!"

  • What did you expect the lions to do?

Did you expect the lions to welcome you with open paws?

Lions saw the humans as a threat, so quite naturally they defended their pride. We watch lion documentary nothing has change encroachment into their land is seen as a threat, they will not be gentle with you, but kill you.

  • @BOOM7STAR Listen 0:09

    "lions don't do this"

    You are missing the point.

  • @BOOM7STAR It had nothing to do with encroachment. Slave traders would toss dead bodies out in the river giving the lions free food. Also, a Hindu burial tradition that left bodies uncovered also made the lions associate humans with food. For thousands of years primitive tribes of people have lived in close proximity of deadly mammals and they have never been a food source or actively hunted. These two lions were conditioned by man to view human flesh as a primary food source.

  • Val kilmers irish accent is terrible the col had a real dublin accent not this shite good movie though.

  • Excellent movie ... now can u control your fear, can you?. One of the best movie and it keeps you on the edge of your seat. Its hurtfull to know dat people actually lost there lives for real becuase this is base on a true life story.

  • The Ghost is a bad lion but The Darkness is FUCKING CRAZY

  • Yesterday, I saw it first time. And after that I dreamed about a lion who is chasing and killing me my friends. :) It was creepy.

Anyhow, this is a good movie, with two great actors and very realistic lion attacks.

  • I remember this movie from way back. I liked it.

  • wow......dont be fooled, the movie is much better than this shitty trailer!

  • the tsavo maneaters

  • See youtube. Kenya. man eating lions. for the true story

  • true story but the real tsavo predators never had manes! but they were big... very big compared to other African lions.

  • I really want to make a video of this to the tune of Bruce Cockburn's Wondering Where the Lions are.

"Had another dreams about lions at the door."

  • I'll upload it soon.

  • Super )

  • @84rcl Your actually kinda right.... I do have a twisted version of life, but I actually have a life. And I can see that you may need a life.. but its cool dude.. youtube will lighten you and make you a normal person Bow down to you tube..

  • based on a true story??? ok, two white boys from england kill two savage Lions and the true hunters of Africa couldnt... ok, that seems realistic. and I guess that Cleopatra was a white woman and no minorities ever lived in Egypt.. Hollywood Burn in Hell..

  • @Suffersosweetly This movie is an almost entirely fictionalized portrayal of Patterson's account. Only the most incredible parts of this movie are true. Patterson killed them both in real life,so there was only one hunter and he was from Ireland not England.

  • @Suffersosweetly Sorry man. It's a true story. Michael Douglas's character is made up but the dude Val Kilmer portrayed really did kill both the lions. Nothing racist about a movie that depicts something that really happened.

  • I saw this movie yesterday, wow....

  • i remembered watching this movie when i was 7. i loved it so much i knida whant to see it again

  • @19sp93

I am watching this movie as we speak an i ''Love it'' i think it had great cast, the 2 Lion's were just scary as hell an were done with cheap CGI like the newer films.

Beautiful shot's of Africa, I got it at Wal-Mart for 5$...Great Deal..i saw this in the 90's an loved it in theater an i still love it today... Def one of the better Animal/Terror films.

Also based on a true story, Like ''Primeval'' if you haven't see it based on Gustave the 20+ ft nile Croc that has killed 300 people

  • can you control your fear? Went and bought it after watching it. Good movie

  • My god, I watched this movie when I was around twelve. Didn't sleep for like a week.

I'll have to watch it again now...

  • Very good movie. Non-fiction, too.

These lions are actually in the Field Museum in Chicago. They are the same lions from this story--stuffed. Look into their eyes.....but not for too long.....

  • @pdburk this movie was whack!!!! "Let's exchange rifles I gotta do some work tomorrow" Val killmer "okay" lol this movie was so fucking corny you people have no taste!!!

  • @ridah925 you're lying. HAWTHORNE (shakes his head on that) John?- (He holds out his beautiful rifle) Change guns with me- mine's much more powerful. I'll be finishing the hospital tomorrow so I won't be with you- but if you'll use this... (beat) ...then I will.

Patterson, touched, changes weapons. PATTERSON Thank you. (He turns to Samuel) Why does he need you by him?

    here:imsdb.com/scripts/Ghost-and-the-Darkness,-The.html

  • @pdburk Did you know that the lions--while they are the real ones from the story--are about half their original size now? Their pelts were hacked up so many times by the hunters and then various owners, that they had to be put back together by the museum and they're now not nearly as impressive--or terrifying--as they were when they were alive.

  • @Muhammadisatroll the lions are shown plenty

  • Deez niggaz cant control dem salves. GODDA GET SOME TRAIN TRACKS!!!

  • Excellent movie

  • The movie is great

  • i saw this lions in Chicago

  • it almost makes it look like the hunters val and micheal look like the killers in this movie lmao

  • @TheAnimalDen douglas looks like an old tramp, val looks good tho

  • I've watched this movie several times, and it still gives me the creeps!

  • This was an amazing movie. True story too...the lions anyways

  • i have watch ths movie maybe 7 times but still it s my feverouit and love ths movie

  • LOL! I've forgotten how bad this trailer is. It's too bad too because the movie itself is actually really good. Trailer totally doesn't do the movie justice. And I always found it funny that Michael Douglas gets top billing yet he has only maybe about 45 minutes of on screen time. The movie totally belongs to Kilmer who is excellent in the movie.

  • saving africa from the africans?? seriously..

  • I liked this movie

could of been more deeper and impactful around the end scene when Kilmer is torching the forest. There could have been a face-off right there with the Lion vs Kilmer. That's the scene where i thought something "magic" was going to happen. It had perfect scenario movement and quite a riveting scenery for it to be actually pulled of. The director really should have done something with the fierce burning scene, it had perfect climax ending potential

    still a great movie 9/10

  • @JesusSucksHorseCock has he been through worse?

  • Val kilmer's worst performance.

  • thats the scry thing is man, they're real, ive seen them in the museum and i wana go to tsavo, they were killing for fun, not fod and they were perfectly healthy too,

  • How good is this moive anyway?

  • @Underworldfreak101 Its like Jaws or Open Water, but with lions instead of sharks. In other words, its fuckin AWESOME haha

  • its a great movie i injoyed part by part just awsome film in deed

  • This movie is perfect !!!! Love !!!

  • I ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY LOVE THIS MOVE!

  • One of the most underrated movies of all time.

  • Ghost and the Darkness failed... Now africa is lost!

  • FUGseriesFAIL!

  • Watch this for free (yes free) at Full Movie World . com

  • what happened to my boy Val? he hasn't had a theatrical release in like 15 years. I researched it and it looks like every director is paranoid to work with him because he's had so many directors kicked off of previous releases

  • @RedMcMahon31 He is a great actor and it`s so sad because almost all his movies from the last decade have been straight to DVD expect for DEJA VU which he was a supporting actor and now he is doing movies with 50 cent? wtf BATMAN

  • Great underrated movie,.

  • This is one of my favorite movies and it is my goal to see the lions of Tsavo in chicago :3

  • @ILuvOden Yeah. My dad saw them and said that the thing about you still being afraid is true.

  • @ILuvOden dude you do know that those lions are looong dead right?

  • @gundumb65 They were stuffed and mounted....

  • I really want to see this movie, looks awesome, but every time Val Kilmer speaks I just picture him as Jim Morrison, hunting the lions in some wayward peyote trip.

Which, despite all reason, could make a very successful sequel.

And great casting on Michael Douglas, when his eyes get all crazy like that, you believe he kills lions for sport.

  • Im south african and live two hour away from the spot

  • I stayed at the camping spot whe the shot this movie this easter weekend, weird...

  • i don't know about u guys but at the end 1:58 - 2:00 creeps me out.

  • We watched this film at school when I was 15. I was still scared then! Although our teacher was into these kind of movies. We also watched I Am Legend. Now the thought of that still scares me today.

  • Only 35 men were eaten by the lions if they each ate 20 kg of meat per human. They could have easily killed more men and just eaten less meat off a person.

  • this film scrared the shit out of me when i was 7 years old!!

man i had dream of this film back then

  • me too

  • haha me too and i was also 7

  • ta perrona

  • it says 'based' on a true story

  • it is a true story it happened back in 1898. called the lions of tsavo

  • Gee, "only" 35, eh? I still wouldn't want to have worked on the East African Railway, if it's all the same to you...

  • The book is outstanding. I recommend it: "The Man-Eaters of Tsavo" was written by the crazy Irish Ascendancy colonel who actually went there and, finally, killed the two man-eaters. You'll read it with the lights on, and you'll never look at Fluffy, your housecat, the same way again, I promise you...

  • Manhunters of the Tsavo, Bwana Devil was a loosely based film produced in the early 50's but failed completely

  • filme muito bm eletrizante muita ação valeu..

  • @nosirrom5 you are the moron retard, the lions they used for the movie were real lions so they cant just shave the lions head, they need it to attract females and it makes them look bigger

  • I read the book when I was much younger. It was one of the first books I'd ever read. It was too scary to me - as a child. I'm really looking forward to seeing the movie.

  • Its not as scary as it seems and their is footage of full grown lions attacking so its not a cheap production. Recommended to anyone that wants a good story or into a nice suspense.

  • Watched dis movie when I was much younger quite mysterious and intresting

  • this is such an awesome movie!!

  • This movie based on a true story ,the documentry was very interesting 2 150ppl were killed, mybe more,n the early 90's they found another lion same species as the killers n the documentry.

  • Great movie indeed, but could never believe that it was based on a true story how schocking :O

  • can someone upload this movie i want to see it i luv it

  • @NumbaWunBitch- You can watch the entire movie on Youtube for free just search for it.

  • This movie is great.

  • thanx! well the ghost and the darkness is way older and better! XD

  • that's the one! thanx! <3

  • this movie made me afraid to go outside when i was little

  • guys help me, there's a movie that was relesaed i think last year, about a family that goes on tour to africa and is attacked by lions, know the name? i wanna download it but i cant remember the name! luv y'all... oh and btw... this movie rocks! i was so afraid to go anywhere alone and in the darkness when i was a lil' girl! XD

  • Are you talking about "Prey"?

  • The name of it is Prey. I bought it a few months ago. I bought it a few weeks before I bought The Ghost And The Darkness. Both movies are good, but I like The Ghost And The Darkness better.

  • the movie is one of the best of all time/

  • can anyone upload the FULL movie please thank you

  • Yes! Ive seen them too at the Field Museum in Chicago. It is very interesting and somewhat unnerving to be so close to animals that you know killed so many people. If one is in Chicago, one must not pass up the opportunity to go to this museum.

  • this is true story i saw lions stuffed in illinouise chicago zoo so scary! there eyes are like u can see there spirits lions from hell and they were males no mains so scary>....

  • The Tsavo Lions remains are at The Field Museum in Chicago, Illiniose (not the zoo). Lt. Col. John Henry Patterson sold them at The Field Museum for $5,000.

  • my neighbour was in this

  • lol

  • Sad but true, the movie rocked but this trailer was pretty off. Thanks for putting it up, regardless, though! :)

  • brilliant movie

  • That is just about the poorest excuse for a Trailer i have ever seen for an otherwise excellent movie
