I live in Scandinavia, and here it's much less than 1 percent who are circumcised. There is no point in circumcision, it's just an ancient religious/superstitious ritual.

It has been hypothesised that they connect breast feeding with urination, and hence pain, and this can disrupt the forming of a bond with the mother. Also, although they don't get erections as such, they can become tumescent. It is not acceptable to abuse someone just because they won't remember it!

Most of their medical textbooks show circumcised penises, as if that were the natural state, and only refer to the foreskin as a covering flap of skin. This is WRONG! The foreskin is the most important erogenous zone on the penis. A circumcised man loses up to 85% of the nerves in his penis. It is a form of emasculation! Though most circumcised men can still function and have orgasms, what they experience is diminished.

One of my family members had a bad circumcision, he is 30 now, and still has problems. I was watching another video a few minutes ago and one baby actually died after hemmoraging blood after the procedure because no one realized that such a little being doesn't have very much extra blood to just leak out of his crotch.

People vary in how much they produce, and women generally produce much more of it than men! Simple hygiene is all that is required. When fresh, it acts as a lubricant.

@josbo51715 It typically takes 10-15 minutes for a baby to be circumcised, not 30 seconds. For the baby that must seem like an eternity of agony! They suffer pain every time they urinate. It has been hypothesised that they connect breast feeding with urination, and hence pain, and this can disrupt the forming of a bond with the mother. Also, although they don't get erections as such, they can become tumescent. It is not acceptable to abuse someone just because they won't remember it!

You need to watch one on YouTube to see how abusive it is for yourself. Most babies get no pain control. Excruciating agony later forgotten, is not preferable to discomfort that is remembered. Particularly given the other ethical issues about imposing an unnecessary operation on a non-consenting child!

From the gross violation of human right; to the permanent destruction of most of the nerves in the penis; to the extreme pain inflicted (even in the minority of cases where anaesthesia is used); to other long term medical complications and reduction in sexual functioning.
These should not be dismissed, and the perpetrators should be going to jail for aggravated assault, as they would if they decided to cut off any other part!

As doctors they believe the proceedure is so painful that they recomend the use of anesthesia to minimize the pain. Studies show that babies are negatively affected by circumcision days after the proceedure.

There is a little more to the story about why there was a rise in circumcisions during and after WWII. Up till then male circumcision was on the decline, just as female circumsion was (which completely died out in the 50's). During WWII Jews found that their males were too easily identifiable. Jewish influence promptly encouraged the "hygiene" argument within the medical community, because otherwise Jewish males were so easily identified.

Most of their medical textbooks show circumcised penises, as if that were the natural state, and only refer to the foreskin as a covering flap of skin. This is WRONG! The father did not seem to me like he needed his son to be exactly like him (which by the way is one of the dumbest arguments ever uttered by anyone). But, THE issue is the right of each man to make the decision HIMSELF. It is HIS body. The discussion of benefits is nothing more than a smoke screen to hide the real issue of Human Rights of the child.
That congress passed a law to protect girls from this and not boys, is outrageous. The 14th amendment demands equal protection under the law regardless of gender.
