  • To arms: this is great music. The only thing I think

... too 80's sound (too many keyboards, no real drummer and so on ) Anyway what I wrote doesn't mean this is a bad music. That was the style and the song is really great. Bye and kisses to everyone (and the cars!)

  • Anyone have the live version he did with the cars?

  • these ads are ANNOYING AS HELL to watch before a video aren't they. cool song though

  • You Tube (and the whole web) sell themselves as a freedom land. They wanna control us. Maybe I'm wrong. They are in it for money.

  • this song is amazing! i love the eerie tone it has. great video too!

  • You couldn't have said it better...I have always loved this song as well, and yes, this song does have a very eerie and poignant tone...I've always wondered what his parents found under the Hustler Magazine...Was it a gun, drugs, or both...

  • Ric Ocasek promised his Grandmother he would never do Heroin.

The Cars always had kool album covers too.

  • my favorite song off this CD was "I cant wait." it builds really well near the end.

  • Honestly, I'm a HUGE Cars fan. This is definitely not one of Rics better offerings. I have to agree with the people who say this song sucks, especially vs. something as great as 'Something To Grab For'. I call it as I see it.

  • they wanna kool you out and enjoy your problems............

  • This is so cool to see this - I never knew there was a video for this song. Beatitude is such a great album, so ahead of it's time.

  • then get off this page. If you think Ric is such a doucebag then why did you watch this. I think all of the cars are good.

  • Fuck yeah! I bought this it's from his Beatitude album.

  • once you record a song like emotion in motion, nothing could get better...this song is dull...im being honest..so go fuck youselves

  • Discovered this track on a Beats In Space podcast, Tim Sweeney started his mix with it but played it really slow, slowed down its fuckin A.

  • That was so awesome! I came to that video straight after listening to the radio show. I wonder if Tim just played a 45 on 33 or did some other editing too.

  • I bought the cassette when it was first released. Now I have the CD. Quite remarkable. Why "Jimmy Jimmy" wasn't used in a motion picture soundtrack is beyond me.

  • My favorite Ric Ocasek song! Great video!

  • Ocasek really had his act together with synths. He's like a blend of Giorgio Moroder and Charles Dodge!

  • Who is Charles Dodge?

  • Dodge is an electronic music composer who pioneered synthesized speech music. He was one of the founders of the Center for Computer music at Brooklyn College and is now a part-time professor at Dartmouth.

  • Jimmy Jimmy yeah yeah

    n_n

  • Dang, is this song really that old? I was just starting my freshman year of college when this was released. It was a huge hit on the college music scene.

Great memories come with this song.

  • I didn't know about this video... it's so well done. Love it.

  • Hypnotic. Awesome use of the vocoder.

  • Dang, I haven't seen that in 25 years! I never noticed that the main chord progression is the same as Shake It Up...

  • RIC OCASEK IS AMAZING!!!

  • This was a great album back in the day. I remember I was 15 and living in hollywood! Man those were the times. Getting laid all the time with teenage girls! AHHH!

  • Fantastic video--and I still have the original vinyl, thank God. Bought it on CD a while back, though (for whatever the reason) the title had been changed from "Beattitude" to "Beautitude". Ric Ocasek is still a rock god and continues to impress me as a producer and active recording artist. I hope Ric remains with us for a long time to come; his music and poetry are timeless.

  • Thank you so much to for posting this....Been a while...5 stars 4 you man!!!

  • Beatitude....What a great album!!! :)

  • Yes, Ric Ocasek was the best 1982-1987, still is, but he lost it. Now it's more rock than pop-rock or pop :(

  • I've been a fan forever.

What a great great body of work.....from The Cars....to producing Bad Brains, Dgeneration etc....to Jimmy Jimmy....to Ric's current work....amazing.

    and still vital.

  • My only criticism of this video is that it needed less "Jimmy" and more Ric. :)

  • Agree on 100%!!! :D

  • Ric Ocasek's the best!!

  • Thanks! I never seen this before. Long time fan since 79.

  • Never seen it before! Thank you very much!!!!

  • It's good to see this video up... haven't been able to find it in a LONG time.

    Thanks =)
