  • Just goes to show how 9-11 ruined America, everyone became irrational

  • Wow. did I just agree with Bill Maher?

  • That night Jeri Ryan slept with Drew Carey

  • Man, I miss the days when Maher was more of a libertarian.

  • wow bill oreily making sense?!?!?! wtf happened to him

  • @5H4K490 He makes a damn lot more sense when he's not on Faux.

  • billy before he was crazy...im talking about o'reilly

  • @SkateFastRockHard Holy shit, what do they put in the water coolers at Faux News?

  • @TaimaDjinn

Acid? but not the fun kind

  • @SkateFastRockHard Methinks it's too much Adderall.

  • love you bill...not oreily

  • Jeri Ryan must be the hottest woman in history

  • jeri ryan. drool!

  • bill o'reilly contradicts himself over and over

  • Bill Maher was much less liberal back then.

  • god O'reilly was so tame back then

  • Woah, this is weird. Bill O'Reilly sounded sensible, around the same time George W. Bush was sounding very reasonable and very articulate. Creepy.

  • ANother video where the top comment is "Wow, I actually agree with O'Reilly for once."

Thus adding to my theory that he;s not as bad as people say he is, and people judge him without actually watching him.

I'm not saying he doesn;t have some big problems, just not as bad as his rep.

  • @heatbucspies55 He panders more than he use to as well.

  • @heatbucspies55 I'd say he is...I watch Fox news just so I can get a bit of news from the right as well as the left, and everyday Bill says at least ONE thing that gets me.....every time, he never fails to be utterly ignorant on at least ONE occasion

  • I'm just here for Jeri Ryan

  • The fact that some people can watch this and then try to connect any piece of it to Bush/Cheney shows just how disconnected and delusional the left wing has become. Time to learn your constitution and embrace your local tea party. Down with liberal radicals!!

  • wow its like im watching tv with an antenna

  • What the fucking hell? Bill O'Reilly is utilising clarified speech, he talks over no one, he makes a few amusing comments and his points seem at the very least considered, if not for his generally quite illogical perspective I would attribute to him the making of a strong argument.

How did he go from that into the babbling, infantile, bitter NWO orator he seems to be today?

  • @Omnilegence he got payed.. have to admit im amused by 'this' Bill Oreilly ^^

  • @Omnilegence it's the OLD O'Reilly....When this show was on, he wasn't having to cover up the right wing's corruption at this time, so Murdoch was probably more lenient on how much Bill could profess his REAL opinions...

  • @R1D3TH3SP1RAL This is all standard conservatism... there shouldn't be laws controlling people's behaviour which is harmless to others. You know what institution already in place is the only reason why one person's diet is anybody else's business? Government healthcare. I was more surprised at Bill Maher, being the first one to throw out the word "communism". He's moved a bit further from the center since then.

  • @eggory That's very true, I have grown increasingly annoyed with Bill Maher the longer this goes on. It seems like he is doing HIS job as well. He definitely isn't helping his defense in regards to the right wing labeling everything with a "liberal bias"... He is getting worse with his little shock factor jokes about the right wing being 100% corrupt and fascist, and I do not like how he twists info to lump Dr. Ron Paul in with the rest of those corporate lackies.

  • Oh, 11 years ago when people on FOX weren't insane. O'Reilly seems somewhat reasonable and intelligent here.

  • I think drugs & eating should both be legal, so fuck both of those guys! "I am the weaver"-Bill Hicks

  • Drew was making A LOT of jokes, and Bill (the host, not the ass) wanted to be serious. I think Drew is just to friendly and jovial a guy to talk about serious issues. At least issues that aren't that very important (like national security or the economy). Like how "obese" people want seat belts on planes extended because they won't fit around their fat flabs.

  • Who released a truckload of crickets in the studio?

  • This makes me miss the days when liberals and conservatives hadn't gone to insane extremes.

  • @backwoodsninja Yeah, these were the days. Bill O'Reilly was actually an entertaining shit-talker just like Bill Maher, stupid sitcoms like Drew Carey were tolerable (I was young), and Star Trek Voyager. Then the butthurt cult of republicanism had to anoint the Cheney administration to lead the American spazzing after 9/11, and everything went to shit.

  • bill maher is a fucking zionist and a piece of shit to boot!

  • @salkhdeir1983 Troll on my Friend!

  • @Gentry939 blow me buddy!

  • bill maher is the man luv bill.

  • Good line-up, I actually know these people!

  • i hate bill oreilly, right wing nut job, but i actually agreed with him SOMETIMES and wished he had more to say on this episode

  • drew cary is bombing bad!! nobody laughed at his stupid jokes in the last half of the show.

  • This is back when Clinton was president and BillO wasnt crazy right winger yet, just an average conservative

  • Bill Maher sure has developed into a flaming liberal since back then.

  • @TimothyADonaghue .same can be siad about bil oreily ont he toher side, just shows how far we have fallen and continue to fall.

  • Bill O'Reilly does'nt seem crazy here at all!?? I find myself agreeing with the points his makeing...I think I just entered the twilight zone!

  • great show, except for O'reilly - he needs his eyes gouged out and he ears hacked off and then try to get people to put blind and deaf faith in the media

  • WTF???? Where was this taken in some alternate universe where Bil Maher actually seems reasonalbe. Question, why worry about the legal ramifications when "protecting" fat people, but when you bring up the same argument for women, gays, and other minorities, you get labeled a biggot of some kind. Here's a sad reality... we're all minorities in way way or another, because no two people are exactly the same. We all have differences that separate us. We need to stop focusing on what divides us

  • @EchoMike03 Try telling that to people like the Ku Klux Klan, New Black Panther Party, Mexican Mafia, & the Westboro Baptist Church.

  • @DontRepYourCity

    "Try teeling that"??? watch this

the KKK NBPP, MM, and the sickos at Westboro...

GO FUCK YOURSELVES!!!!!! You do not speak for me or anyone I know.

    Rot in hell.

Doesn't seem that hard does it?

Still doesn't change the point of my post

  • @EchoMike03 Nice one XD

  • This was back in the days when Bill Maher was actually sane. I miss those days.

  • Bill won...but did you expect Drew Carey to win???

  • If you guys think Bill is as right-wing as he pretends now, you're being fooled. He has found his niche, and puts on this character to make all the money he has. I am not defending him, I think it's just as ignoble as being a right-winger, but you know what I mean.

  • Bill owned it

  • O'reilly is far too stupid to understand the concept of "mala prohibita"

  • haha drew careys the man

  • These shows are like the prototype for the current one. Awesome looking at these as sketches.

  • Maher dropping the C word (communist)--watching these old episodes, I can't help but wondering if he feels ashamed for his often-reactionary (and uninformed) past opinions.

  • Isn't it funny (and telling) that there are so many comments on how O'Reilly almost seems like a normal and sane person in this clip?

  • i tried not to think dirty dirty thoughts looking at Jeri Ryan here, but then i remembered resistence is futile...

  • Wow, Bill bitching about providing health care for others? Times have changed....

  • Bill Maher talks about Communism as a negative?

Wow... if he saw this he'd be pissed...

  • @dex1391 He would still hate it.

  • I think a homeless guy should be able to drink on the currrb

  • I can get over the picture quality. I hate the sound quality.

  • damn i didnt know Oreilly was so tall

  • yeah, as much as I hate O'Reilly, he did present himself well.

  • See how Bill felt so good when the audience clapped for him? He needs snap back into reality.

  • OMG - i can't believe i'm agreeing with o'reilly.

  • this has garnered a lot of respect from me for each one of these individuals...as if that meant much to them.

  • *rocks back and forth naked in shower crying* I... I... sortve agree with bill o'reilly....

  • @MegaDuke1 ha, the same thing I"m thinking.

  • @MegaDuke1 - thats what mahr was saying. he could hardly stand that he actually agreed with O'Douchebag on some of this shit.

  • why is this such shitty quality, it was in 2000, not in 1987

  • And now...Drew Carrey is no longer obese. Or even over weight.

  • man, in this modern age of technology it almost feels nostalgic to see the old scratches of a VHS tape

  • I like fat on my strippers!

  • @whiff1962 GTFO

  • "She's 5'4" and 270"

    "hey hey hey"

ROFL...fat people bring it on themselves. It's nobody else's responsibility to push them away from the table or to eat with a spoon instead of a steam shovel.

"PUT DOWN THE FORK AND STEP AWAY FROM THE SERVING PLATTER"

  • Eating, like all things, needs moderation. There's nothing inherently wrong with cheeseburgers. Eating a couple everyday is when things get troublesome.

What a person eats just may be the business of the government, despite what Bill O thinks (or thought), when increases in cases of obesity are driving coping medical costs higher into the billions.

  • "is there a difference between intoxication and eating bonbons"

    7 seconds of silence,

    bill maher thinking: WTF?

  • O'Reill isn't that bad in this one.

  • I like the way Bill O'Reilly thinks a politician in the US actually got elected due to their policies. It seems to be me that is the last thing people take account of when voting in the US. US politicians are more likely to be elected because of their hairstyle rather than their policies!

  • @Bashimillar I agree. It strikes me as odd that we select the most powerful people in the world through the same process that we select a prom queen.

I am so absolutely sick and disgusted with the current barrage of local and state level political ads. They're all a bunch of liars and panderers. No shortage of mud to sling in both directions. We're left to choose between a handful of shitty choices, or be chastised for not voting.

Our style of democracy is often over-rated.

  • The...how should we put this...level of popular discourse, politically speaking in the 90's and very early 00's was incredibly petty, and trivial, and incredibly retarded. I'm starting to think there are two main things that started to change that, one is 9-11 that pushed people to start thinking about politics more deeply(even if a lot of people reached wrong or confused conclusions at first), the other is the dominance of the internet, giving people more sources of info, etc.

  • Why did Maher host O'Reilly? Was he not aware that O'Reilly wouldn't do the same for him?

  • @theTimothyDeLaGhetty

I think you intended to write 'would', not "wouldn't".

  • bill o reilly dominates this

  • @niggaplease47 The loudest guy in the room usually dominates most things.

  • drew carey is so lame

  • Bill O'Reilly has one reasonable position... i wonder if he goes off the deep end in part 2?

  • @Sumoto999 15 year old kids do not give a fuck about bill o reilly if you get thumbs down its just cause people think your a dick and so is bill o reilly

  • @Sumoto999 If anything, they'd thumb you up. O'Reilly's one mission is to be outrageous.

  • @Sumoto999 haha you got no responses at all. step up your game with your comments bitch

  • You forgot to mention that Duran Duran's John Taylor was also on the show.

  • i think they should legalize marijuana..... would solve tons of problems i dont get why people dont want it legalized?? people can get it easyer?? no, anyone could get it in a second just gotta ask some one, its ridicules that pot smokers have to smoke in privacy because if they dont they could go to jail just for taking that one hit

  • wow, this was back when Bill Maher was still funny and the show was actually politically incorrect. Ahh, the good old days!

  • I agree with Bill O'Reilly.

Bloody hell. I must be ill.

  • Fat people discrimination is a difficult topic to talk about.

The human body is not naturally meant to be overweight, or unnaturally skinny, but still, people can do whatever they want, so it's an iffy topic.

  • Bill maher is the most politically correct mother fucker i've ever listened to

  • Poverty is criminalized in America

  • I love that they cut to Drew while the British guy talks about fat Americans haha

  • no surprise and englishman speaks sense

  • This is perhaps the only time I have ever agreed with O'Reilly

  • @coldcomfort79 I think a bunch of us feel the same way.

  • Twinkies are only 150 calories and 4.5g of fat per cake, and tasty too.

  • Why did Jeri"cheesecake in space" Ryan appear on this? Was Kate Mulgrew too busy that week?

  • I don't get it, why did Bill O'Reilly use alcohol in his example of the difference between illegal drugs and eating? And how did they even arrive at that discussion? They were talking about the new discrimination law. Did the video skip or what? I just feel like I missed something.

  • Hate to say it, Bill O'Reilly won this debate.

  • @pittsky

    ???

There was no debate to win.

  • @pittsky I don't agree with that.

  • Bill actually isn't that bad in this

  • @tomtom108 ya bill o'reilly isn't actually as big of a dick as i think he is, fox news is the problem, not bill.

  • @tomtom108 it's because this was 2000....same with glen beck. Glen used to be a well mannered, even keeled journalist who held some genuinely libertarian beliefs....This was before they both turned into "Louis Prothero" clones. The overused idiom "9/11 changed everything" really applies in this context.

  • It's so funny when you get someone genuinely, independently intelligent and put them in the middle of a group of averagely smart people: a leader in with a bunch of followers. Maher is supposed to be the host here, but O'Reilly just ends up taking over because he is the only one in the group that can think outside of the flow. @mroy88; You're right, O'Reilly is not a smart man: he is near genius.

  • @mulder1glen

"You're right, O'Reilly is not a smart man: he is near genius"

no, he's actually quite mentally ill and so believes his own lies.

  • @mulder1glen HAHAHAHA!

  • @mulder1glen

    wow... just wow...

  • @mulder1glen who are the 12 idiots who gave you a thumbs up...

  • @mulder1glen are you fuckin kidding me????? you must not be to smart

  • damn bill maher is suck a progressive liberal. i hate him as much as i hate jack thompson.

  • FUCK IT WILL DO IT LIVE! FUCK IT! LOL

  • i agree with o'reilly for alot of what he said here

  • I think this is the only clip I've seen of o'reilly that didn't make me angry

  • I would love to beat O'Reilly to death with his fucking Bible.

  • OMG no fat strippers!!!!!! say no to fat stippers

  • That's a great point he made about the double standard with smokers and drug users.

  • I am on Drew and Bill's side. Drew like me is a libertarian and if a law is in place it should be not be pointless and silly. Laws are supposed in place for the good of the people.

  • weed is a good substance

    it kills dumb people

and the smart ppl that kno what it does to you, can enjoy it

not usei t as a gateway drug, not drive while high

    kill the dumb ppl lol

so the smart ones can kill ron paul and not vote for dumb ppl

  • hey hey hey omg that was good timing

  • love the quality

  • @mikecappa vhs is a bitch.

  • @achefefreitas That was bad cable! lol

  • Great quality

  • Bill O'Reilly really isn't that bright so it makes me nauseous watching him grin like he's so proud of himself. Yuck.

  • Joke about Whitney Houston being high still relevant ten years later...

  • What he does not realize is the number of people that are killed on our nations highways do to accidents caused by people having heart attacks while they are driving you would be surprised by the actual statistics

  • Then it is nobodys business if I want to fire up a joint or drop some acid both drugs of course kill no where near as many people as obesity does. In fact Twinkies if you really think about it kill more people every year then pot does lol

  • @thelivingfire

pot doesnt kill kill anyone, stupid people just think its a good idea to drive while high

  • @thelivingfire straight up, weed has never killed anyone.

  • Oh there you go again Bill pointing out the hypocrisies that ruin this country. Yes it is funny how the United States locks up non-violent drug offenders and openly excepts people who are completely irresponsible with their health

  • Oh. My. God.

Where did this O'Reilly go, and what did FOX News do to him?!

  • @NanaPudden ratings my friend, his act is all about ratings

  • Ha ha Maher's face just before the end is priceless. "Bon bons . . . Wtf!?!?"

  • This was back when bill o reilly was rational. Now he sometimes makes good neutral points, but he is mostly an asshole now.

  • @TiCkToCkMaRiO1473 thats because even he doesn't believe most of what he says. He just speaks the point of view that gets him ratings on TV. Its all about the product you are selling, and he sells a product. He doesnt have to believe the product, people just have to buy it.

  • good old VCRS

  • 3:08

    haha #fail

  • I love me some Jeri Ryan!!!

  • wow bill o'reilly was good on here

  • He got in trouble as soon as he said "on fox".

  • Wow. Bill was actually pretty rational here.

It's incredible what happens to people when they get on a rollercoaster of GOP power for 8 years...

Of ANY power for an extended amount of time, for that matter.

  • jeri ryan wasn't wearing a bra

    5 stars

  • Thanks. I forgot because I'm a republican and I was in a coma for the past 8 years. I thought this was all the black guy's fault.

  • LMFAO @ Bill Maher saying we've gone down a path of "total communism"! BWAHAHAHAHAHHA! If only the Bill Maher of today could watch this and chuckle. I fucking cracked up.

  • Wow, back when this was made, it was the good old days. the national deficit was just around 500 billion and it was decreasing, unemployment was at 4.3%, and we were not involved in any wars.

What happened between then and now?

  • george w. bush i think

  • drew carey must have felt so weird sitting there listening to them talking about fat people

  • o'reilly is not a smart man

  • @mroy88 I wouldn't say that; he's a very smart man, he just has alternate views. Doesn't make him an idiot, just makes him WRONG.. I mean... Harder to agree with.

  • @mroy88 Maybe, maybe not, but his argument about food being legal and not causing intoxication is sound.

  • @litalearthquakes Its sort of irrelevant to the discussion, to be honest.

What about smoking? Smoking is legal and yet you will be discriminated against in the healthcare system if you do. Want a heart transplant? You're going to have to quit smoking.

Whether or not its legal to ingest something is beside the point when it comes to the issue of what is or is not a significant health risk.

  • @SwayingDaisies That's the case to not have socialized medicine. Just looking at weight to police what people are eating isn't going to work. If we're going to have the right to stop everyone from doing things that aren't "smart", we're not going to have any quality of life. Are we going to not treat torn ACLs in athletes because they should have known better?

  • @litalearthquakes My comment was picking apart Bill O'Reillys argument involving the illegality of illicit drugs and the legality of a twinkie, pointing out that its irrelevant to any issue of health care, I made no further statement.

If a point is irrelevant, its hardly "sound" is it?

  • @mroy88

You don't make the money he does and not be at least a little smart.

  • @mroy88 Neither is Maher.

  • @mroy88

i disagree with him on many issues- especially his foreign policy, but like it or not he is intelligent- ivy league grad and such. Letterman even said hes smart- and that hes "too smart to truly believe what hes saying"

  • @df61660a Thats called hardheaded and ignorant..To even debate or bring up a point you need to fully learn and understand both sides of the arguement..Bill O'Reilly always throws that out the window and is confident his perspective is the only right one, very christian-like...

  • this feels so wierd, the "love bug" joke.

  • Bill O'Reilly and Bill Maher have known eachother since they childhood. That is why O'Reilly doesn't go after Maher like he does other liberals.

  • Maher also is not a liberal, so also that.

  • When O'reily spoke to Maher via distance on the O'reily factor about tje war in Iraq and Afganistan, O'reily went after him.

  • Legality, in and of itself, does not justify the morality of a law.
