Naked Necks are one of the most cold hardy chickens out there. They lay well even in winter. They are also a bit larger than your average chicken making them good for both meat and eggs. I think the fact that they are not the cutest chicken in the world makes them a bit easier to slaughter. Another name for them is Turken although they are in no way related to a turkey. Some people think they are a mix between a turkey and a chicken haha
hi ur yard looks fly free cud u tell me how to keep flies at bay as i hv 3 chicken in my garden due to their droppings i am invaded with flies please help and y do hens lay soft shelled eggs as 1 of mine does sometimes many thanks
@iluvindia01 soft shell eggs try providing a little crushed oyster-shell or calcified seaweed will ensure that any deficiency is rectified, for the birds will not take more than they require.
