Im hoping this is just the scraps from the edit room floor..I find it hard to believe that all that money, talent and tech could only come up with a giant 3D merc badge wafting around the screen! Fairplay it was a tight schedule, but why no low angle onboard perspective? Just oodles of wide shots. Should have been pitched as a simulation, letting the audience get a tiny sense of what skimming the walls and nailing the apex is like via 3D. Not just banal car add from the 90's redone in 3D. Farce

I'm rarely negative but given chopper support, a custom porsche mounted jib and David Coulthard driving this director could still only manage what amounts to an average mercedes promo for the car..... It only ever looks "nice" and not once do you feel like its a heart stoppingly fast drive.... Dude.... Where's the phantom/ red camera slo mo....? Where/s the car moving past the camera at speed....?? Eh....? Are you mental? Have you ever watched a the great car chase movie? Overall: poor!

Yeah the car is awesome. Coulthard is pretty good a a commentator, sadly wasn't as a racer. Happened to be in the Schumacher and Hakkinen era.

I don't get why they're investing soo much on this car. esp with all the hype. The Ferrari F458 Italia shifts way faster, and overall is way quicker than this SLS Gull Wing Mercedez Shitbox. Sure Germans make nice cars, but they sure as hell can't make the fastest.

Fifth Gear presenter Tiff also took the SLS out for a ride while Coulthard was there. Both drivers did Speeds around 160mph (more would be really hard to squeeze out of this course with the SLS). If you want more SLS Roar, watch the Fifth Gear bit in Episode 7 from Season 17 which was on TV at the 15th of July this year.

I like how everyone thinks he is goign 160mph all the time and there fore the chase car is faster and better. guys pls watch the behind the scenes video. you are naive to think he's driving 160mph the entire time. the shots from the chase car is some other scottish rally driver driving and David complained a bit because he could see the turns during the close ups.

The looks are great (apart from the contrived dash clocks shots), but the sound mix is awful. I hope in a final version they lose the cheesy dubbed on chopper sounds and turn the music down. That way the car's engine noise will get center stage.

@AckbarsFist Correct, it's another SLS driven by rally car driver Robbie Head. The reason why it appears it takes corners faster is that they agreed that the front car would be driving at a fixed speed, and Coulthard then would be slowing down at times to create the racing effect.

@claesmogren I was there doing safety cover and it was a second SLS driven by Robbie Head. I asked DC how fast he was going and he told me he got it up to 160mph
