  • Nice clip, nice music, wise lyrics - definitely one of NO's best songs.

  • This is one New Order's most awesome songs

  • i love this song !!

  • It's Friday and time for a cold beer

  • The last good song they did....

  • this is awesome untill now

  • Great, but you can barely hear Hooky during the chorus. Something happen, or is this how the mix on the original video is.

  • It's the original song..

  • It took me 6 months to figure out these lyrics back in the day:

"Its a school exam the kids have run away."

I still get butterflies from this song.

  • sweet song.

  • I wouldnt even trust you

Ive not got much to give

    Were dealing in the limits

And we dont know who with

You may think that Im out of hand

    That Im naive, Ill understand

On this occasion, its not true

Look at me, Im not you

  • I would like a place I could call my own

Have a conversation on the telephone

I would not complain of my wounded heart

  • First single I ever bought. Simply awesome.

  • I love them. Does anyone know what year this song came out?

  • I believe 1993.

  • Released:04 May 1993

  • yes, 1993, I was 17, I clearly remember that year!

  • this is such a good song. i love new order. especially 80s new order.

  • Gracias por este video

    Hugs From Chile

  • I would like a place I could call my own

Have a conversation on the telephone

Wake up every day that would be a start

I would not complain of my wounded heart *sigh*

  • NEW WAVE NATION

  • Shit hot track

  • l'unica canzone valida dell'album republic.

  • It's incomplete. But works

  • My favourite song of this band. One of the most beautiful song of the 90's

  • yeah, it is

  • One of the greatest songs of all time

  • BIEN BIEN!

  • terribly close to my heart...

  • mis mejores tiempos en la vida, gracias.

  • Ah....refreshing.

  • Congratulations on the originality of your comment, such constructive high brow comment is so refreshing

  • Oh, do be careful; point the finger and three point back.

  • zombieeeeeee

  • New Order is the BEST techno, dance band that EVER came along!!

  • NEW WAVE!

  • i wasn't referring to some of that music. I love some of the old techno/dance/electronic music from the 90's, but theres some pretty bad stuff too. I was referring to most of the poppy crap that came out throughout the decade. There is a lot of really bad music that came out of the 90's, but there is also a lot of good music too.

  • Viva New Order

    IAN CURTIS IS NOT DEAD

  • ya, from punk to techno they stil rule

  • SIMPLESMENTE FODAAAA!!!

  • Wow!

  • 1993

  • Although the 90's were chock full of just AWFUL music, I gotta say it also had some quite brilliant music too. This is one of those songs that allows you to feel a special emotion not easily accessed. Songs like that only come along every now and then.

  • very good masters

  • J'adore new order!!!!Μου αρεσουν παρα πολυ~!!!!!

  • all this new wave song brings back memories from the 80's

  • 80's ??? sorry but this song is of the 90's

  • yah me too, it almost makes me cry to think of all those nights dancing in the clubs and sweating all night long dancin' and just having such an amazing time. I do miss the 80's too - even if this was a 90's song, New Order, Love and Rockets, Ministry, wow...what a life we had, who knew our world would end up like this. You'd think it would have had much more impact on the culture of today - where are all of us?

  • This song was from 1993. It's too bad that the member of New Order were in constant conflict at the time because when they have all their element, they make such beautiful music.

  • You pig fucker. The song didn't finish? What is sweet tap dancing Jesus is wrong with you?

  • ginger your a lovely lady but why cut this song

  • Cutting this song right at the end is like pulling two people from each other during sex.

Not that I remember what sex was like.

  • fuckin incomplete

  • Eu amo esse som, pena que acabou pela metade.

(New Order in Brazil Fãnclub 4rever end ever)

  • I like alot dis song! Order is good music!!

  • NEW ORDER is always synomyn of great music.

    "regret". Oh well! Very nice.

Always to dance, always to smile!

  • i love this song.... its been there with me all through my life..

  • I moved out when I was 18, and when I was 19 I held the lease to a 3BDR flat.

  • I really like this song, I remember listening to this when I was 9 years old on the radio back in 1993 :(

  • Hey A55, Funny you should mention that.

I remember this song running through my head when I moved out and looked for my first apartment years ago. You only get that feeling once no matter how many times you move.

  • Find somebody who isn't a dick to you.

  • po ta faltando um pedaço da musica

  • é verdade...pisaram na bola véio.

    Classic !!!

  • great song

  • When he says "I would like a place I could call me own", it makes me think about someone being in their mid 20s or so and living in their first apartment, by themselves and feeling both the freedom and sadness that it brings. Anyone else think this?

  • what happened at the end!!???

  • might wanna try pm dawn n human league

  • I New Order nella mia splendida Roma...

Che cosa posso chiedere di più?

  • Where's the rest of the song, there, girlie?

    Aaaarrrgghhh!

  • Nice summers in the car drinking vodka coolers and visiting new places. New Order forever!

  • Ha,ha! Have we met?! That sounds so familiar!

  • This song brings back good times.

    WIN

  • Fookin loooove this! Thanks for uploading.:)

  • esta rola no tiene madre es una gran cancion amo anew order

  • this song reminds me of my youth....it always has, even when i was young...

  • who are you... yogi berra? ;)

  • Great song!

  • se dio vuelta

    el papa del chino

  • Great N.O. song- one of my faves. Always wondered if the old man with white hair sitting in the car is somebody famous? He looks familiar somehow.

  • Hooky & Caroline Aherne (Mrs Merton) were once married btw....

  • Has to be my fave NO...Just a cool alt. tune...Best of NO has it all...

  • great tune, one i never had in my collection.. cant seem to find it:(

  • peter hook

  • love their bass lines!

  • I still work in a factory, and I'm always singing either Joy Division or New Order to pass the time... fitting I guess.

And well, at least the video doesn't cut out Hooky's solo.

  • this vid cuts out before the song is finished...lame!

  • Lachlant - you are cool

  • Oh No! New Order have been my favourite band since Ceremony. I have posted comments on 'Your Silent Face' & 'Lonesome Tonight' & The Perfect Kiss', adding them all as my favourite New Order tracks. And then there's 'Regret'... and lots more besides...! What a song! What a band! How can one possibly make a choice..??!!

  • Amazing band with so many hits, I was born in 85' so they were huge. Now here I am 23 years later and accicted to the 80's because of these guys

  • I used to work at a factory for people with disabilities, (I'm blind), I hated working there, and sometimes I used to sing to myself, in order to get through the day. This is one of the songs I sang most often, I'm not a very good singer.

  • i used to wrk in a factory (i'm not blind but)....an i also used to sing(badly lol) to get thru the shifts

  • Back in 2005, my best friend and I sang this together, this is possibly my favourite New Order song, I sounds awesome through headphones, and I can't get enough of the guitar bridge towards the end of the song, I've even looked up the words on the internet.

  • when this song came out, id never heard of new order but i was convinced that they were one of the greatest bands ever purly based on this song

  • Didn't quite like this album as much as Substance...but still a huge fan of New Order and Joy Division.

  • THIS MUSIC IS FOREVER!!! GREAT!!

  • I remember the first time I heard this, brings back memories.

There's so much spirit in this song, even now it sounds amazing... Songs like this could never die.

  • This song rocks; True heartfelt music.

  • Haha. You obviously don't understand the 80s. (I know this song debuted in 93, but the spirit is still there, which is what made this song so great.)

  • Then get a CB radio, you stupid fuck.

  • too right mate!and if anyone so much as mentions using a toaster im gonna fuckin lose it big style!lolx

  • I was never a great fan of new order at the time, but I think this is probably my fav song off all time nowadays, cant fault anything about it, its up there with the best of the best.

  • so true what a great song of all time

  • i like this song cause it comes from deep the heart...says all you want...

    Nina,

  • aww, I totally agree with you. ;0

  • how petite

  • I love New Order as i loved Joy Division too!

  • one of the best in history of music a real masterpiece

  • Another great song from NO. And like other songs from NO ,they´re getting better like old wine. And I still wonder, how they could create all this great tunes. First they seem to be simple, nearly childish. But they grow...

  • such a brilliant song.

  • That git Bernard Sumner nicked the rhythm guitar chord changes on this, from a number called Spacewalk on a demo tape, that I sent in to Factory records in 1989 - and he knows it.

Enjoy your ill-gotten royalties you hypocritical little pseud.

  • I'm intrigued, post the demo!

  • i guess thats why your writing comments on here being all pissy rather than goin out and doing something about it, long live N.O

  • Everyone nick a little bit here and there. Yet New Order are able to do some of the greatest songs that even the original creator of the little beats and rhythms cannot even dream of making something half as good. If it was so easy money, many more would do the same, but they CAN'T and you can't. New Order simply know how to produce great songs. Right now, you are just a little jealous of their success. And yeah, why don't you upload your demo tape here so that we can judge it?

  • lol nice

  • it reminds my childhood...and I still love it!!! que canción más genial!!!

  • Brilliant. Just like a good wine, this songs ages beautifully.

  • continuar viajando por la clasica italia, con unos angeles britanicos, y el toque helenico de las poesias, con una afinidad francesa, en la elegancia vocal. como recorrer entre miraflores y san isidro Lima, algo de alli.........

  • adoooroooo New Order !!!! Amoooo.

  • Ai, eu também sabe, ameeeiiii, New Order arraooouuu !!! É babado fortíssimo !!!

  • They played this on a sport radiochanell

  • I loved this song; this brings back memories of my adolescence. Thanks for posting!

  • la vieja italia, con los cantos de angeles britanicos, en una vercion classica musical 80s

  • the other 3

  • CLASSIC! I learned of New Order when I use to steal my older brothers cassette's and this was my fav. song when I was a kid.

  • ME TOO! Except I stole my sisters tapes, not my brothers xP

  • his has always been my fave New Order song - absolutely beautiful, melodic heaven...

Now my 16 yr old LOVES it and knows all the words.

    A classic imho

  • love this song

  • Brilliant song. One of my favorites! BTW, is that Ray Bradbury in the video?

  • Love, LOVE, L O V E this song!

    Thanks for posting! <3

  • Great song.

  • great song

  • Yah Superstu86.. I saw that movie, but don't know what the band was called..

Though New Order was called 'Joy Division' before Ian Curtis hung himself.. the song Blue Monday was about him.. A wonderous band!

  • New order has always been innovative and is often not recognized for their musical contribution. They set the pace for many bands

  • the most beautiful song I've ever heard! ten stars!!

  • Wonderful, marvellous, magnificient, glorious... If I could gather all adjectives to give to this song they still wouldn't be enough to express what I feel in my heart when I listen to it. New Order songs are part of my life.

  • 1993 i was 15 at the time loving it young im 30 now and still got fuck all still im alive looool

  • quality never get these sort ov tunes again timeless song

  • what a tune!!!!!! end of story

  • I love this track, total untouchable genius.

  • New Order is among the best bands out there. They didn't fake it with 1000 recordings remixed into an almost computer generated MIDI. Their's is raw and hard core synth. God bless them.

  • i wasnt around when this came out and im into metal/rock but this song is just amazing.

  • Great track! always associate it with a footie show in the midlands in the early nineties. pretty sure it was hosted by saint and greavsie and the rundown of all the weekends goals had Regret as the backing tune. happy dayz

  • Why would you post this if it's not complete? Jacktard!

  • Dissapointed vid not in full.

  • I'm sure Austrailians are great, but have I missed something. You don't think New Order are Austrailians do you??? Or is it just a general comment.

  • Thank you for posting "Regret" it's one of my favorite songs. I was fortunate to see New Order, Oakland, CA in 1985. They were wonderful. I hope that those who come across their music will enjoy and appreciate it.

  • GREAT MUSIC!

  • i wish i could go to australia, gods country next to paris and prague!!

  • ian,ian ,ian como la cantarias si estuvieras con nosotros?

  • Como la cantaria IAN..es para soñar...........

  • Traveling through europe, and seeing 9 different countries in six weeks on a Kontiki tour in 1987, reminds me of this song, even though it came out 6 years later. Australians are the best people to travel with, anytime!

  • Aussies are awesome...I hung out with a few, when I was deployed to Diego Garcia...of course, the Brits weren't too happy about that...

  • and i remember when we were young

  • I dropped out of high school, ran away and never came back. And I have to say, this song really describes my feelings for the decisions I've made. I don't regret them.

  • I saw New Order on their Republic tour in 1993 and this was my favorite song, still is a favorite actually.

  • Great song, I loved it !

  • This tunes fukin nostalgic.

Used to be on a Nickelodeon ad when I was a kid, remember some kid writin in an sayin it was crap, the presenter went nuts an ripped him right on air. pissed meself. think the guys name was Rick somethin.

    Fukin great tune.

  • I miss my time spent in Nottingham whenever I hear this song.

  • ÓTIMO

  • "I would like a place i could call may own"

  • laughter and tears and chances that slipped through my fingers. Hope is what keeps me going. I love this song since day one !!

  • Sad happy good old times...

  • This song brings back a lot of good memories from that time. Puts me in a good mood every time I hear it.

  • Oops, I meant early to mid 90's. Sorry. That was a great time for music. I think this song is about him somehow going back to have

a normal life... have his own place, have a normal conversation, wake up everyday, that would be a start.

  • i miss l.a. everytime i hear this

  • Song was from '93!

  • Music during this time (early / Mid 80's) was pretty cool... Depeche Mode, New Order, etc. I remember trippin on 6th street here in Austin during that time. Fun stuff.

  • This song is from 1994

  • Their best song along with round and round.'93 was a great year for music.Quality British group.Quality sound

  • Brings back those memories
