but not because it's "too poppy". It just doesn't even sound good to me, a little too generic pop-rock. Sounds like a million other artists could have written it...
The lyrics don't matter. You guys get too caught up in lyrics. It's not bad religion. The lyrics with Silverchair are often just another vehicle for the music, not the other way around. Get your shit in one sock.
yo,,, uhhh dude local h is definitley not mocking silverchair. i saw them perform this song just like this on silverchairs freak show tour in 1997 in ft lauderdale fl. he played it acoustic, in tribute. in fact daniel johns himself twisted the words around and was goofing off with it a bit himself. so there you go. dont go twisting things up.
well i just got the impression local h was making fun of silverchair not just joking around. my point is couldn't local h choose to make fun of someone other than kids? yes i do think that some of frogstomp's lyrics are juvenile but the music came from juveniles. i will say i still really like isreals son. i think daniel johns is a musical genis, not to mention he is georgeous!

isn't it sad that people are so jealous of silverchair's success that that they have to mock a song that was writen and preformed by 15 year old kids. i don't think making fun of someone elses work is going to get local h anywhere.
melodies are good but lyrics are rather juvenile, rather laughable. do you really take tommorrow or israels son or shade seriously? thay are extremely talented.
I find Tomorrow to be less juvenile than their later career...I find it much more abstract than say even Freakshow and Neon ballroom (album as a whole, not just a single certain song (Ana's song was pretty abstract)) Granted every song here and there has one of those juvenile lyrics. I can definitely see where you're coming from on Pure Massacre...not a very good song lyrically but great musically, but thought the rest frogstomp was pretty well written for the most part. Hate their new stuff
@teemunkee- the musicianship in Neon Ballroom was fantastic. Emotion sickness, and well, most of the other songs on that album were incredible. Daniel Johns's lyrics and guitar playing were awesome.
I'll agree with you on the musicianship being fantastic, But here just wasn't a song that REALLY stuck out for me on Neon Ballroom. Not quite like The Door on Freakshow. My main problem with NB was that it was overproduced and unique yet unoriginal sounding. Which is quite a problem with many groups I know. The best local band (That I know personally) has the cream of the crop musicians in my area, yet they make terrible generic creed rip-off music-like sounds LOL.
