Saw Pharaoh a few years back in Glasgow, UK, and he coasted it. Lost a bit of respect for him after that. He played one set of about 60 mins and only soloed for about 10 mins. A big disappointment.
With respect to Trane, Sanders was such a perfect complement AND contrast to Trane's sound and approach. Trane was very advanced technically but was drawn to players like Sanders who had this intensity and a bold trust in the whole SOUND of the horn.
