  • Can you do one showing how to do it for my sis

  • Hi hi, I'm not sure if this has happened to anyone before. But I had freshly mixed henna and coned them, I put the remaining in the freezer within 24hours. When I took them out, about 3 of the cones didn't have any staining effect whatsoever but the others stained. I'm not sure what could have caused this, can anyone shed some light on this? Would really appreciate it.

  • @HennGirl90 What kind of henna did you use in your recipe? Some henna pastes don't freeze well. Did you mix the henna yourself?

  • @HennaSooq I used henna powder from Ash Kumar bollywood henna kit, it stains lovely, but don't know what went wrong here. And yes I did mix it myself by the directions given on the pack.

  • @HennGirl90 Since it's an Ash Kumar product your best chance of getting a good answer would be to ask them directly. We have our own product line and it's usually easier for a business to answer questions directly about their own products. So Ash Kumar's team should know since they make that paste. I hope this helps :)

  • @HennGirl90 But just to ask you as well, it was powder then right? It might be that in general it sat out too long. Usually indian henna is ready within 12 hours max and then use it or freeze it right away. Majority of henna artists use either indian henna or jamila henna

  • @HennaSooq Yeah I purchase the henna powder and mix it myself. Thanks for the info :) will try to freeze it in a shorter space of time next i'm mixing and see if that helps.

  • @HennGirl90 Welcome!! :)

  • i recently bought jamila henna powder but it turned out to b for hair can i still use it for the body?

  • @MizzMurder03 Not really as it's just really not that good at all. It's too gritty so it doesn't apply smoothly. I've tried it before and it was terrible.

  • Is it possible to re-freeze after thawing? I'm wondering if that would affect quality.

  • @Fulumirani If you re-freeze too many times it can demise. 1-2 times is okay but usually the cones don't even last that long anyhow :)

  • @Fulumirani i'll tell you this, i've refreezed my henna probably 3-4 times and it hasn't affected the stain at all :D

  • How many cones would you use on one hand?

  • @goodgirl8790 It depends on how much work you're doing and how much paste you'll need. Bridal work anywhere from 5-6 cones or so, simple designs probably 1 cone.

  • in the country where i'm from (Singapore), the weather here is really humid (75%-90% humidity) . and whenever i thaw my frozen cones, there'll be alot of water vapour forming on my cones. and i'd usually end up with a runny paste to work on. :(

  • @beruang30 oh wow....you make your own henna as well though right? maybe just using fresh cones for yourself would be a better choice

  • after you thaw, within how many hours or days you can use? because sometime we do travelling, to do henna?

  • @imag5190 you should use it right away when thaw. If not, it'll begin to demise bit by bit. If you travel with henna just keep a container to hold them in with ice packs. It won't last a few days at all. Keep out only a few hours if you make them by hand. Otherwise keep them frozen when not in use.

  • sister r u still in canada?i remmeber last time i had fb u were going to the states..

  • @choorijamadar We're actually based in Maryland, USA now, but we also have a manager for Henna Sooq Canada who handles distribution and products. So kind of half yes, and half no :) I will be back in Toronto at the end of the month for the Whole Life Expo. Can't wait!
