I saw him live in Seattle at a very small venue called Tractor. He was more amazing that you can possibly imagine. When he did this song, the entire audience went absolutely crazy. This guy is one of the greatest guitar players in the world.

Awesome guitarist. My buddy turned me on to him years ago, said I should try to book him or at least get him on my national radio show. I called his "handler," who was some Mexican guy and he wanted money just for Monte to do an interview over the phone. That was 8 years ago and I just lost interest until now. He is a great guitar player!

Living in Austin, I'm lucky enough to have seen many, many Monte shows over the last 10 years or so....his shows at the Saxon Pub are legendary. I've heard him cover Sara Smile dozens of times, but I have to say - his vocal performance in this video is the best I've ever heard him sound. Rock on Monte - can't wait to see you at the Saxon again.

As for this tune, yes it is incredible. I was at this show and the whole set was killer. As for the hair, I think he should keep it that way. It matches his live image to his heavy riffs and blazing solos. He seems to be making some his tunes heavier these days. Check out the Muskogee, OK show of 1st and Repair compaired with the Austin City Limits version.
