Got the power of android on my HD2.

People say my phone sucks when I say I have an HD2, many thinking that it's WinMo. I surprise them by showing it runs android. Likewise, if they see the android screen, they ask If it is the evo, then i have to show the windows logo on my phone. Android is quite misunderstood with the general crowd IMO, especially when people call it a droid.

a. doesn't use blur or motorola's "application platform" shit anymore and just sticks to aosp.

b. unlocks bootloaders for its devices (or at least have unlocked bootloaders for new releases)

Let's not ignore the main reason why Google bought Motorola, and that's because of patents. Motorola has a strong patent library and with all the patent lawsuits flying around, Google needed to get some patents of their own.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Google entering the patent sue party down the line and aggressively going after Apple or Other non-android competitors.

@galacticaphantome Google has own patents, but problem is that they are not strong to protect Android as others do not use them. And Google does not attack with patents, only defends. it has been their policy and it is their current policy.

The patents what Google now got with Motorola Deal is very important, as every other manufacturer needs them. You can not build 2G, 3G or 4G phones without Motorola Patents.

Google knowingly infringed on Java according to many email evidence that Google is trying to surpress because the evidence is so damning. There won't be a judge on this one, because if Google is smart they will find a way to settle cause they know they f'ed up big time.

@galacticaphantome I have readed the news when they still were news. Have you readed the quoted parts? It is very questionable as they dont mention idea to use patented technology without permit. Only suggestion to license Java if they choose to use JavaVM. You can find many Java virtual machines what are open source, without any patent issues. And did you know that Dalvik ain't even Google's own work? Google did not write Dalvik. And the Email what you are talking about, it were never sent.

Probably want to keep to an eye on MIUI new powered device called MI-ONE sounds and looks "cheap" cos made in China but its 1.5ghz CPU power, unlocked bootloader, powers 2.3.5 with MIUI OS out of the box.. anyways wont put my hands on fire but we ll see how this goes... more infos on MIUI s blog though... thumbs up on this report.. cheers...
