  • I love her so much..... she can sing :)

  • i have hear many versions of this song and this is the best, the barbra stresand version is too slow and she tries to enlongate the notes,dd is the real queen

  • Straight warm singing without the pretension and gadgetry of most later singers.

  • I love this classic song and I love her singing it too. Thanks.

  • what movie is 1:48?

  • Applauding endlessly...simply beautiful ;glowing....

  • I most enjoyed ... thank you.

  • Gorgeous arrangement and sung with ... perfect charm ... thank you ... applauding.

  • LOVE it! thanks so much for uploading :-)

  • @fragglesful Thanks. you can see Dottie singing the full song in my youtube clip -

Dorothy Dandridge singing at the Velvet Nightclub

  • Pardon me, what was I thinking: it is GLENN MILLER and orchestra who appear in the Dandridge vido, not Benny Goodman's (I wrote this correction so you perfectionists out there wouldn't think I'm nuts: WATCH THE VIDEO!) The tag says "Glenn Miller Chatanooga Choo-Choo"

  • EVerybody who is on this "comment page", or whatever the hell it is called, I have some advice for you: if you love/like/are enamored by D. D. (as I am), you have not LIVED if you have not seen the video in which she appears with the wonderful dancing/singing Nicholas Brothers, "Chattanooga Choo-Choo": Benny Goodman and orchestra provide the music. LISTEN TO/WATCH IT, and experience pure heaven...

  • @thomasmoredamian Amen! Many, as I've said before, don't know that Dot was quite adapt with tap, as the piece you've cited reveals. I grieve that Dot didn't have proper handling of her bountiful talents in Hollywood. So many missed opportunities with her!

  • Beautiful!! Thank you for sharing!

  • EXquisite is the only word for this beautiful beauty! Where are the likes of her today? NOWHERE! Her time was a great one, and we'll never see the same thing! EXquisite!

  • @thomasmoredamian - lol - I know hat you mean - it seems today we just have hot, sexy women. Dorothy seemed to exude an innocent beauty. Girls today could take a tip from that. But there are still sweet beautiful women about if you open your eyes.

  • thank you for sharing these photos with us.

  • @exmilguy Thanks. I'd forgotten that the 1st 25 seconds of the trailer for the movie "Bright Road" is Dorothy singing this song from "Remains to be Seen" - and you can find it on youtube. Lo.

  • Beautiful!

  • I LOVE DOROTHY DANDRIDGE!
