Ok so I just watched both the NES and C64 versions, and the graphics on the NES are much better!

Yeah, I think the graphics look more real on the C64 than the NES.

But its the censoring that bothers me the most in the NES version.

For the record,the NES version is alright, but I still prefer the C64 version. Graphics are better, also it's not censored unlike the NES one (there is a webpage with the NES programmers bitching about how Nintendo made them censor the game)

Is that the "hamster in the microwave" version you're playing there, or the edited re-release?

There's also a Famicom version of Maniac Mansion with more anime looking graphics, doesn't look anywhere near as polished though.

I have Maniac Mansion on the NES and love it. My favorite SCUMM games are the Monkey Island series.

SCUMM games are point & click adventure games made by LucasArts that use the SCUMM engine. It was origionally made for Maniac Mansion but then used for many other LucasArts adventure games.
