Congratulations on achieving this sophisticated and artistically sensitive performance which any pianist would be proud of at any age. I hope music will bring you much joy throughout your life.
Impressive play. I appreciate your invitation to become friends. I am going to assemble all of your work in a playlist. Do check my channel once in a while. Your new friend,
I feel inadequate. I have troubles playing this due to my double jointed thumb (which was never a problem until this song). I think...I will go try to learn how to play in a more relaxed normal position.
Yes, we have to think ahead and ask ourselves: "what will these children be playing like when they are our age?" Some of them will be outclassing us. And we should also think back too, and ask ourselves: "how did we play when we were their age?" Memory can be deceptive, and some of us think we played just as well when we were children, but I don't think we did. Well, I certainly didn't, anyway.
Neither did I. Let's hope these young musicians don't go the way that some of us did (me especially) and get bored and tired of the hard work by the time we reach our teens. I abandoned the piano at age 15, then waited another forty years before reviving. What a waste, I could have been good by now!
bowieuk2: It's never too late to improve; I teach piano at two UK universities and we accept older students, though very few apply to join us. But I had a 68-year-old undergraduate pianist who played Beethoven's A flat Op. 110 Sonata in his final year recital with astonishing maturity. The other piece in his programme was "Notations" by Pierre Boulez!
Take your time, study music in general (not just the piano) and you may be surprised by your progress ...
I believe that entirely. I learned piano for seven years when I was a kid, only reached Grade Four in that time. I have learnt more in the past six months than in the whole seven years. Who said only young minds can take stuff in? I have learnt Chopin's Nocturne No 1, and currently learning Etude 12, the very fast Revolutionary. Unthinkable in my youth. I couldn't be bothered to practice when I was a child, I have more patience today. Thanks for your comments, much appreciated.
WOW Amazing!

Maybe in ten years from now, when he's on the world stage, I shall be able to boast, "I saw and heard this kid play when he was only five." Great!
