Same here. Lelouch isn't a man of romance but when things have to do something with Suzaku, there's instantly some vague fervency involved. And he said himself - happiness is to have Nunally's health back and life he had with Suzaku. Throughout the show, each time he drowned in despair, that's the impression I kept getting repeatedly - that ALL he needs, in spite his doings, is his sister. And Suzaku. Not the world.

But I never got to understand the other side - Suzaku's emotions for Lelouch.

I think Suzaku also loves Lelouch, but it's more difficult to say, because not only is the story told from Lelouch's perspective, as opposed to his, but he also is very conflicted. He may love Lelouch, but at the same time, he despised Zero.

Yep, agreed, but what about Euphie? Personally, I think he considered himself responsible for failing to protect her, hence his obsession to kill Zero. The whole world was going corrupt while only Euphie remained pure so she became his only hope. But just that, hope - or so I'd like to think. Tho', yes, I think Suzaku loved him too, but not Lelouch whom he was fighting, who killed Euphie but the martyrish one who emerged shortly before the end and cast everything away for sake of others.

Ah yes, I think he also loved her, but she was not the only reason he hated Zero. I think he also hated him because he had a strong sense of what he thought was right and Zero went against that. I still say, that he loved Euphie too, because, like you said, she was the one pure thing in his life and he loved her more for the ideal of her. But in the end, I believe he loved Lelouch more, not only for the martyr side, but as the friend he knew since childhood.

Of course, the childhood times; after all, it's precisely those memories that have been preventing him from killing Lelouch all along. And yes, he had his own criteria for justice he lived for, or rather, a masked yearn for atonement that compelled him to hate Lelouch, but each time he had to exibit that very hatred in front of Lelouch, he cried. It's just that, by hating him, he punishes himself. That's why he accepted to kill Lelouch - for the future, yes, but primarily, to punish himself.

Haha. Then, I'm also in need to express my gratitude since, yes, CG slash fandom (or any fandom, actually) is mostly sex-based, so dwelling on the depths of their relationship is rarity. :) But, I feel bad that most of these relationships are viewed and treated as mere fan-service used to attract female audience rather than a spontaneous product of characters' interaction.

I... assumed that he died, but I admittedly only saw the exact scene where Suzaku kills him. I've yet to 100% finish the series unfortunately.

Although, sex appeal isn't always a bad thing, it is sad that many people base their ships only on that and romance story stereotypes. That's why I tend to avoid mainstream fanfiction and such. XD Though I've read a few good Japanese doujinshi that show their relationship much more in depth and have interesting stories of their own.

Well, majority of people is after sex not, say, philosophy or psychology but that's also why more complex pairings remain popular despite time.
