well trust me, he's laughed to me before he dissipated into bits. Like he thinks it's hilarious how they beat him.
I'll have to play vs him again on my PS FF Anthology version and see if it works.
ok, i played ff6 a bit these days... i discovered kefka laughs at a certain point of the battle. It depends on the music:
as you certainly know, music are looped in games like ff6 so, due to the fact he laughs at the beginning, when music loops iùhe laughs again.
maybe you beat him right when music was restarting...
(you can check this out if you listen mp3 file for "Dancing Mad")

were using the 2nd atma weapon as your weapon in the first attack and can someone trnslate the words for me!

the first atma is available from a chest in the espers' cave before going to thamasa; the second one is available stealing it from the goddes during the third phase of the final battle (just before kefka).
The words he says are:
"Life, dreams, hope
where did they come from?
and where are they headed?
these things... i'm going to destroy!"

How did you do to hit that high with atma weapon? is not ragnarok better?

Atma weapon deals damage based in your HP. There is no better weapon. Except maybe Illumina, as it gives freakish defense bonuses as well.
