Looking at the website, it will take 1000lbs (enough for my whole family at once!)Thinking logically, the intensity of the fire would melt you as quickly as it would melt the ladder, so if you're not out and safe before the fire reaches the room with the ladder in...your dead anyway!
I think it's a great idea to a problem we've all got. How to get out of your house quickly should the worst happen, it's there should you need it and its easy for kids to use, unlike the large chain ladders!
Doesn't appear to be a sturdy ladder. In the real event of a tragedy people would respond in a frantic state and the escape wouldn't be as smooth as it appears on this video. Also, the intensity of the heat would melt the ladder.
They forgot to take the loot with them....
