This is more common than people think. Everyone has misanthropic moments. Whenever you get cut off in traffic or when the light turns green and it seems like it takes people forever to start moving or when you're out somewhere and go to use a public restroom and find the toilets unflushed or someone has wiped feces on the walls... do you at such moments feel all warm and fuzzy inside and say to yourself " I just love people" ?

Humans rule. Humans are the only organisms that care in the slightest about any other organism. We are the only organisms that ever try to fix what we have done wrong or reconcile any differences. More importantly though, we are the only known organisms to possess complex thought and emotion. For this reason, humans are, as far as we know, the collective consciousness of the entire universe. I would never want the universe to lose it's consciousness or ability to be self-aware.

I completely agree, humanity is awesome. The University of Alberta conducted tests demonstrating that people with negative traits are more likely to see those traits in others. I can't help but notice that many (not all) of the misanthropes I've known are riddled with self-hatred.

This is more common than people think. Everyone has misanthropic moments. Whenever you get cut off in traffic or when the light turns green and it seems like it takes people forever to start moving or when you're out somewhere and go to use a public restroom and find the toilets unflushed or someone has wiped feces on the walls... do you at such moments feel all warm and fuzzy inside and say to yourself " I just love people" ?

Humans rule. Humans are the only organisms that care in the slightest about any other organism. We are the only organisms that ever try to fix what we have done wrong or reconcile any differences. More importantly though, we are the only known organisms to possess complex thought and emotion. For this reason, humans are, as far as we know, the collective consciousness of the entire universe. I would never want the universe to lose it's consciousness or ability to be self-aware.

Our project of 'civilizing' ourselves via science, technology, art, law, etc are all fine and noble, but what we need is a mirror - and something higher to aspire to. Not God, that's to extreme. You cannot generalize. I define myself as a misanthrophe and I'm just as critical of myself as of others. But many people don't like, or should I say "hate", the misanthropic thinking because we focus on the inconvenient sides of humans.
I won't claim that any misanthrope knows the whole truth about humans, cause neither ekstreme positive- nor ekstreme negative thinking, will ever give you a realistic view of anything. So of course it's a balance.

I'm a misanthrope. I hate people. Ignorant, selfish, greedy, stereotypical. The list goes on and on. I'm surprised we haven't destroyed ourselves yet.

I am Sydney, and I am a misanthrope as well as many other things, I hate the nature of humans as a whole, but I do realize that there are good people, such as myself and my friends, we are not perfect, never will be, but we do try our best..

Very well put together and somewhat inspiring. I'm somewhat of a misanthrope as well.. nobody asks to be born though, we have no choice but to live by our instincts and desires.

I too agree with many of your views on humanity and I am a misanthrope. However, rather than letting my hatred become a drive want to destroy I use it to better myself and hopefully guide others to do the same.
Instead of innocent until proven guilty I say "stupid until proven otherwise"

@BarbedBiohazard I agree with you. Instead of a continuous cycle of hate I also try to be the best person I can be and change the world in the ways that I can. If nobody ever tries to change things we will go nowhere.
The problem is that we don't have a strong and righteous leader to guide those that can't come to these realisations themselves, so population in general are going nowhere

Amen to that bro, some people will wake to the horror of life, unfortunately most will continue their sad pathetic lives completely ignorant of how awful they truly are. Real life is far scarier than any horror movie could ever be.
