My friend quit his job working for a blatanly corrupt regulated towing monopoly in Portland Oregon cuz he was told if he wanted to keep his job he would be required to break laws that would get him jail time anywhere else.
The Portland Police said that local towing companies are essentially above the law, while his employer said Sergents is a necessary evil, that his sole responsibility was to inflict as much evil against people as possible, because inflecting evil is how tow companies get rich.
@junkification Here in Oklahoma there are three towing companies that tow your car or truck and sell them at auctions. If you have an expensive looking car or truck, they know what they are looking for, they get your information from car dealerships or your jobs website. Stuff we can't find but you pay them, they will find all your info online. They will pull up behind you with emergency lights. You instinctively pull over. It's highway robbery, You pay them they leave you alone.
They have biometric license plate readers issued to them by the state. They will drive up and down in a parking lot until the computer tells them which car to grab. What ever you think when pulled over, or when they just randomly show up while you are eating at a restaurant, they never come alone. There are cameras on you at all times with these people, they know were when you don't.By tapping you or spitting on you, they will try to get you to push them or hit them. So they can say your crazy.

This is why the honest operators get no respect while they do their jobs. I'm a career professional recovery specialist, our jobs are hard enough without asshats like these making it even harder.
There's a world of differance between the city shitheads that have put the bad name out there and the suburban towing companies that are regulated and called to the police calls. We don't chase them down and charge $900 for the hook & storage.
Thats why when i caught my car being towed for no reason, i took ice pike and punctared his tires, than my class mates and i trashed his truck, and they kicked his ass!

AAA is the worst ever... we started that and quit right away, you literally dont make nearly any money of off them... Not enough to afford a $70,000 truck
@BigRiggerJ Depends on your area too though. We run by a college, in a low populated area. We can send a wrecker out, and he doesn't come back for 6 hours, doing call after call after call. If you do them right in a row... you can afford 16 trucks.... like we have.
